Interesting but as you pointed out Gates and Jobs but took existing OS and rebranded them. I feel that he definitely should have gotten more recognition, but it all comes down to engineers vs architects. The final product will always be remembered, not the ones who built it. Its true in most every aspect of life. A lot of early programmers just flat out got screwed over.

I just don't get wasting energy on hating something like technology. I cannot stand the interface on most phones. Droids are Ok but I just like using Apple products because they handle the types of design and graphics programs I use like a breeze. One thing I really can't stand though is when I see some 14 year old girl with a $2000 Macbook Pro who only uses it to check Facebook. I guess that is mostly my issue since I am spying on them through their window and getting angry.

Got it for like $75 because people just want to dump the old models for the new ones. I honestly would just get one on eBay or something from someone with a good seller rating. They are unlocked and should work with any plan.

We have a good plan, unlimited internet, 20 frequent numbers for calls or text, and 100 miutes to any other phone for $40 usd a month, the problem here in Mexico is the price of the phones themselves. Import taxes in Mexico are 30%. We traded in our blackberrys a year ago for Iphone 3's and we didn't have to pay a dime to get the phone because we renewed our contracts had we wanted 4s we would have had to pay an extra $10,000 pesos, had we wanted the 5 we would have had to pay $12000 to $14000 pesos. Roughly 12 pesos to the dollar exchange rate.

It sucks. THe Samsungs are just as expensive here.

I have antivirus programs running all the time but we have a shared network and I am cautious not to get suckered in by downloading free screensavers and toolbars, etc. The lat virus I got was from a shared drive folder from some dipshit in customer service and it spread throughout the company. I also have to access private servers from furniture companies that know jack shit about internet security. I once downloaded an image file from their backend that contained image folders that I needed for advertisement design and it was preloaded with FBI moneypak virus (lucky me!) as part of the zip file.

I've never had an issue with security at home while running Lion or Windows.

I could get into the technical side of things, but I want people to still read my posts. I'll say this, the weakest points of Windows revolve around the Registry structure and the security that has been implemented. They have made things more unixy with windows 7, but it's still inferior.

I own a Playstation 3, and have spent at most $50 in my lifetime on Microsoft software and products either through student programs or the fact that the OS is pre-installed with the hardware I buy. I use google docs and open office on the computers I own when I need to use a word processing program or something like that.
