The Indianapolis Colts are done with Dwight Freeney, but it doesn't appear the defensive end will lack for suitors when he hits the open market.

Freeney said Wednesday that former Colts teammate Peyton Manning has already been recruiting him to join the Denver Broncos.

I just read that Carol...if he's lobbying then you can bet Austin Collie got a text as well. Though I wouldn't mind seeing Freeney in Denver, especially with our rotation because he'd be asked to do less, so not as much wear and tear.

Sounds good to me. The Giants have proven you can never have too many pass rushers.

I dont want him here. Id rather use that money elsewhere. Ed reed would be one I would rather than freeney

Gotta agree. How much are we going to spend for a specialist to come in on 3rd down and how much play time does Wolfe lose because of it? Yeah, it "could" be nasty to have all 4 (Von, Doom, Freeney, Wolfe) on the field at the same time in passing scenarios, but at what cost to the rest of the roster?

I wouldn't mind. Our pass rush was not as good as everyone thought. Although we led the league in sacks, we couldn't do it consistently during times when we didn't have a 2+ score lead. First half rush was not impressive. The inability to touch Flacco during the playoff game was just as much a factor in the loss as the performance of the secondary. I agree about the Giants comment above by BaileytheBeast, although I also realize we have more immediate needs which should take higher priority (but I don't think safety is one of them, nor would Ed Reed necessarily be a big addition).

I think what helped us in the sack total department was getting a lead and letting the rushers tee off at the end. When the games were closer, we didnt rush quite as much. If JDR can open it up a bit sooner, maybe it makes a difference earlier in games.

I wouldn't hate the move but it doesn't really make sense. Collie on the other hand would be a good young slot receiver to maybe replace Stokley.

Yeah...a guy that might play 3 quarters all season. Great move

My first thought was, 'yo we got DE tucked in, goodnight.'

But then, a rotation of 3? More intense pressure. Plus -- it would give coaches something interesting to tinker with in the labs. 3 elite rushers? They should be able to take those ingredients and make superbowl pie.

Does Ed Reed get to bring someone else's neck? Love the dude, and I agree he would bring back that Dawkins factor, but he can't pass a physical.

First off, Nicole Zaloumis is so damn hot looking in that NFL west video that I hardly watched any of the other stuff. OMG she is freakin amazing.
As for Freeney coming here, maybe he has one more year, like that Smith guy coming from KC back in the 90s, it would be great. Doom twists his ankles and shoulders and elbows all the time, and might end up with another torn tendon, you never know.
Freeney says Denver might not have room but then he says playing for the Giants would be his dream. Dont the Giants have less room there than we do?

I like the idea, if freeney comes wolfe can move back to DT and that would be an upgrade.

Freeney, cheap, I guess I could see, but Collie? No thanks. Did he even play pro football last year?

We need a speedster in the slot not some slow white guy.

I really dont think we need Freeney nor do we need his salary.

Unless he wants to play for much less and would rather win a ring.

Collies been injured alot with concusions. Not sure I want this guy just taking up space.

Now, Amendola or Welker....thats another story. As much as I like Stokley, I think Welker would be a huge upgrade and also take a weapon from the Pats.

Agree with Freeney if he comes cheap. Don't think he will however so.....

As far as Collie, I would want him all day long for his speed (which he has plenty of by the way). I wouldn't want him because he is FRAGILE in the brain area (and I'm not talking about his smarts). I think he's had like 5 concussions so far and I don't think he even played a snap last year did he!!??

The Broncos have only Jeremy Beal (did not see the field), Robert Ayers, Elvis Dumervil, and Derek Wolfe under contract, while Jason Hunter who's stats were better then former first round pick, Robert Ayers is a free agent. It could be argued that Derek Wolfe whom is 6'5, 300lbs., is too big to be an effective defensive end in a 4-3 defensive front and a better fit as an interior pass rusher. Denver is depleted at both defensive tackle and defensive end, if Dwight Freeney came with a relatively decent price tag, how could it harm the team? Denver will need to figure out what to do with Beal and Ayers whom have had issues, lacked in production or simply been ineffective.

Is Collie fast? Huh. Well then I apologize for my previous insult.

Freeney yes, Collie no. Stokley did just fine, imo.......

We would be better off developing our own talent. I would rather not spend the money on either Freeney or Reed.

Freeney wasn't even sure how Manning. In the reading the article Freeney said he didn't think Denver had room for him. It sounds to me like Freeney still thinks he's starter and with only 12 tackles and 5 sacks on the year he starter anymore.

You don't get 52 team sacks being inconsistent. Give any defensive coordinator a lead and he can play more aggressively.

Peyton is a great player but I wouldn't give him a particular player just because that's who he wants.
