Is it me, or does it look like Ayers won't be much help to us this year? He plays lost and uninspired, pathetic for a 1st round pick. I was more impressed with Moss last night.

After watching how well Orakpo looks at Washington I'm beginning to think we picked the wrong guy.

That would be so fitting with how 2009 has been for the Broncos. I hope the kid is alright.....

On the bright side, we have to catch a break eventually.

It looks like noshown, Ayers and Smith are all hurt. Sucks about Smith because he looked like he could bring it. I'm surprised Quinn hasn't ben hurt yet, seems to get pummeld every place I see him in.

Yup, had to be assisted off of the field, leg or knee injury

Ayers looks like a fish out of water, they really need to play him to his strengths. Look at what he did in college and put him in a similar position.

Why do you think we were flipping out over not picking Orakpo? He is a beast.

I know it's way to earky to make this call but right now it looks like Orakpo and Donald Brown would have been better fisrt round picks for us. Both are looking great so far.

Ayers doesn't have any pass rush moves. He stands there trying to bull rush whoever is blocking him. Pathetic. I said it from day 1 though

yes. because evaluating draft picks from preseason games and training camps is the best way to weigh a player's talent.

seriously, give the guy a chance. . . . reggie white didn't have ten sacks in his first five quarters. . . .

I wasn't ever a fan of Ayers, but I really hope he can become a solid player.

No you can't but you can also tell if a player has "it" or if they don't. Ayers doesn't. Not in the 3-4 at least. He's a 4-3 DE.

RT @Bill_Devaroe: Bronc sources say that Robert Ayers is a busst. Plane and simple.

even if you were a pro scout, you couldn't tell that after watching a few quarters of pre-season play in a base defense. . . you had the guy judged before he ever put on an NFL uniform-- which is fine if that's how you want to do it, but don't expect anyone to accept it as a serious or informed opinion. . . .

I've said that since seeing him at Tenn. He's not a 3-4 OLB he's a 4-3 DE.
