Well, nephew, all of my suggestions would be either OLD or worse... Dead!!!

I guess I just don't dig younger women...

Hmmnnn.... you DO present a bit of a challenge here, though...

The dream sig would have to possess both image and *personality*

I could suggest many of such images from the past, but I take it that you need to have them both young and living?

That's only fair, so Greta is out.

I'm gonna work on this combo image for the present, and will subsequently put forth same for your personal approval, nephew... however my services do not come cheap....

Oh water will take it right off since acids are mostly water based. Even though it is a strong acid it does take a little to eat through your skill unless you take a bath in it. Though it will feel like any other burn afterwards. It stings when it first starts working then it goes to more of a "your hands on fire" feeling.

Not at all. Just syaing that for what you really get out of it is it worth it? Of course I haven't drank for 20 years so I haven't had a hang over for a long time.

Not at all. Just syaing that for what you really get out of it is it worth it? Of course I haven't drank for 20 years so I haven't had a hang over for a long time.

Howdy, Day1!

Long time, no speak!

Re, your comment on drinking,”…for what you really get out of it is it worth it?”:

Well, that’s a two-sided coin, my friend. My take is this. If one can enjoy an occasional “high” or *glow* from the “spirits,” but such has no real impact upon your day by day living, then, I place this in the same category as an occasional overindulgence in chocolate….or a healthy helping of premium (but not Ben and Jerry’s, <g>) ice cream.

However…

In respect to those who have a “drinking problem” (well, they could always study a certain scene in that old movie, “Airplane” <g>), this is an entire different matter. Seriously, it takes a big man or woman to recognize that alcohol is a person demon, and then DO something about it—for personal salvation! These types can be fun at a party or other social gathering, because they’ve found an alternative to “fun” in a bottle. A “natural high,” if you will. :elefant:

Just as there are several nuances to “love,” there are multitudes more in terms of what constitutes “happiness.” And I suspect that you do not believe that a habitual “drunk” could ever be really “happy.” And, to that, I would agree.

By the same token, there are those who have never touched a drop of that potentially dangerous substance (and never will) who may or not be “happy” most of the time, yet are well adjusted to life’s demands—and well-equipped to handle life’s daily demands.

Sometimes, the members of the above can be fun at any of life’s ceremonies—because the induction of drugs never was a player in their success in the first place. So, nothing to be missed in that case.

For those who cannot handle alcohol well (and/with cannot present themselves favorably in public), they either do not have the counterpart fun of a tee totaller, or they don’t even bother to show up in the first place!

Anyhowzers, I’m sure that both KC and Jody do not fall under the category of “problem drinkers.”

They are total and utter LIGHTWEIGHTS!

How you doing.

I have already had my share of the partying stuff. I would never insinuate that Jody or KCL have a problem with drinking. That is something only they can decide.

I don't have a problem with alcohol as long as I don't drink it. To me it's not worth it. It's hard to believe it's been 20 years, time flies as they say.

I have a lot of friends that drink but they seldom if ever drink enough for me to even notice they have been drinking. It's more like a glass of wine and dinner kind of thing when we go out. Not for me but for them. I always have a sprite on the rocks or water. :D

Very well clarified my friend Raisin' a glass of cranberry juice in *toast* to your success! <*click*> Somehow I know that you are one who knows the Yin from the Yang--while others are still struggling with Yahtzee!

Me, I'm doin' ok. Been better, been worse. But even the stock market undergoes it's ebb's and highs. As long as my lifeline chart does not go flat, I'm happy!

And you?

Hey, this was not a personal attack, silly! I'm glad you are a "lightweight" in terms of drink! In the long run, you will serve the "knockout punch" to all those who consider themselves to be "heavyweights." <T>

Not at all. Just syaing that for what you really get out of it is it worth it? Of course I haven't drank for 20 years so I haven't had a hang over for a long time.

I'm well aware of the other side of drinking....alcoholism.

Had a couple of alcoholics in my family....my father comes to mind immediately! He has been alcohol-free now for nearly 13 years and I'm very proud of him, as I guess my daughter (his Kelsey Baby) was just a lot more important when I told him, "Dad, I had to live with it, had no choice as a child, but...my daughter will not."

Yet, he will still glance over at someone's beer, especially a Dos Esquis XX, and wish he could have one. I don't blame him for that one bit.:D

I'm doing well. The holidays are coming up quick. My wifes birthday is just passed so all is good since I managed to do all the right things this year for that event.

Well sometimes I blow it on her birthday. I'm not the most conscientious guy sometimes. This year I got all the right stuff at the right time and we had the romantic dinner. You know the whole enchilada. She loved it and we had a great time. In fact we ended up celebrating her birthday several times with different people. It just worked out that way.

One year she kept telling me she didn't want to celebrate her birthday. I made the mistake of believing her. I didn't get her a card, cake or anything. I'll never make that mistake again.

I think it's more about 'intent' than anything, and just feeling 'noticed' and 'loved'. There are many forms that can shape this - not always about money either. Birthdays just do not seem as big of an issue for many men, for themselves, and that extends sometimes to how they view 'their plans, or lack of plans' for others birthdays. I know this - It all makes sense....but yes, never believe a woman if she tells you 'don't worry about it'. Because, it's not coming around for another year yet....that could be one long year.
Sounds like you made sure she felt special, and hope she appreciates that very much.

We've been married for 17 years with an anniversary coming up soon. We have a great relationship. We only knew each other 3 months before we got married.

I don't think she felt very special that year. The 2 boys were moving on, you know, breaking the apron strings as they say. They were more into being with their friends than with us. She also had an operation on her lower eye lid to remove some basil cell cancer.

I'm happy to hear of your *success* story, friend!

I think that my case is similar, in that I only knew my wife to be a short time before we got married.

But, so little that we knew about each other, way back then! Neither one of us was the one we were "advertised" to be. In retrospect, I think the only thing we had in common is that we were both politically conservative.

And then there was that "Seven Year Itch." Neither of us was really "happy" with where our lives were going... and departure was on the horizon.

Yet, neither wanted to leave, to say goodbye to our young memories. After all, what would we do with the collective pictures in the family album?

Honestly, I do not know how we survived, but we did. And, now, it's just a gentle downhill slide unto the Great Unknown. We have agreed to brave that "last frontier" together.

Well, a little past my "bedtime" here now...

But it has been good seeing you again, my friend.

Thanks Jody, I hope your happy and that everything is going good.

I think a relationship is a commitment more that any thing else. You just have to work it out. It takes both parties to do that. As long as both parties give it an honest from the heart effort it will work.

I like that.... "overhang".....hmmmmm

But no, I was just tired from all you bums keepin' me up so late. :D

Yet, there's no fun in being 'bumless' either.

Do you know how tempted I've been to do a little more thread-killing in King's thread?
It's starting to sound nearly 'political' in there with the debating. :faint:

But....I'll be good, dammit! *pushes halo back into place with regret*

It seems that way, I know from my own situation. Yet, what you are actually doing is preserving yourself in the process by being kind and giving everything you've got. An act of kindness or hard work is never a waste. Some day SR....the right person will notice, appreciate, and not let you feel like you're all alone doing it.
