ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – For Fullback Jacob Hester, virtually everything about his football career has changed since he signed with the Broncos in late November.

For the first 12 weeks of the season, the fifth-year man out of LSU was looking for work after the Chargers released him on Aug. 31.

His arrival in Denver completed a dramatic two-month stretch that saw him leave the team he spent his first four years with after being drafted in 2008, spend all of September and October and most of November out of work, then finally continue his career in a new uniform.

Hester adds an element to the running game the Broncos haven't had since
Hillis left. Not to put McGahee down -- he has power in his own right and can
do more things. But Hester is a road grader. He would seem to create another
opening on the roster because he can step in at FB when needed, so they
won't need to keep a dedicated FB, IMO.

Too bad they didnt let him lead block for Hillman on some of those line plunges against Baltimore. No lead fullback at all.

I too hope they keep him around because he can do more than one thing adequately.
