Anyone going to this game? I am and would love to get together for tailgaiting. My hubby is a Raiders fan so I guess that makes me safe...unless of course he decides to feed me to the wolves.

I wish I was. Do you live in the Bay area?

No, I live in SoCal but it's just a 4 hour drive.

I wish I could be there other than the fact I've always heard that some of the Raider fans can get testy to say the least.

I went to quite a bit of games there... I live in Pleasanton (Bay Area). The best thing if you are going with a jersey on... bring somthing so you can put it in on your way out.

The tailgaters there start around 6 in the morning and drink untill the game starts. Not "all" fans are bad but there are still tons. People will throw stuff at you and make re-marks during the game. Also if people start acting up they will escort "you" out for your saftey.

It is not a fun environment unless you go with a bunch of people... I am not going this year... maybe will go when they play san diego if we need san diego to lose  wearing my Bronco gear...

Oakland is not the greatest area alone and the stadium sucks. I am a big A's fan and can't wait for them to build their new stadium in Fremont.

I seen some brutal fights and pretty sad things against people that meant no harm... Let me know if you want to know more or any details of anything.

:( this is sad. Maybe I will re-think this decision. I went last year to the San Diego game. I have to say San Diego fans are very welcoming to other teams. There was an entire Bronco Row! So fun! I think the worst thing someone said to us was "no brats for you" and maybe a couple of 'hee haws" but that's it. I had a great time in the stands with the San Diego fans, I would haze them, they would haze us. It was exactly what a football game should be FUN. I would love to go this year but XMAS Eve?? not really a good time to go when you have kiddos...

I'm curious. What is the genesis of your becoming a Broncos fan?

Long story but I will make it short:

My Grandpa (RIP) was a football player in high school, got a full ride to OU, would have made the NFL but got hurt. When he had grandkids the first thing we got was a football, and I mean he would put a football in our baby carriage. When I was little I spent every Sunday laying on his fat belly in the floor watching football. Back then he liked the LA Rams. When my cousin Matt was 3 he watched football, played football knew everything about it (weird for a 3 year olds attention span) but guess what team he picked.. you got it the Broncos. My grandpa and our whole family has stuck by that team ever since. That was about 28 years ago. Matt would cry when the Broncos lost (yes at the age of 3). You should have seen the fit he threw when we lost the SB and he was well old enough then. That sums it up.

As far as my husband, I am far more of a football nut than he is, I think he gets into more because I demanded the NFL ticket so I wouldn't miss a game. I also think that he has become more the avid Raider fan because I am such a loyal Broncos fan. He likes to stir the pot. So far I have always had the upper hand. ha!

Unique story, GLF.

Well, I axed, you delivered. <s>

I'm still surprised that your grandpa did not dis-own you for abandoning a West Coast team. ;)

At any rate, nice to see you "here" again. You always added that certain *punch* to the boards.

Sincerely,

UB

Hope you see a big Bronco win
as you deserve it :salute:

Its hard to try to get anyone to switch teams

this year all the Pats fans say come to the good side
and I say. I would rather put an ice pick in my eye

respecting a team does not mean liking them. I respect Brady
et all except for the coach and Rodney but never ever ever
ever ever will like them :D

Isn't that the truth, I have been trying to get my husband to which sides (not pitch hit) for years

aww...good story. The only live game I've ever been to was a Rams game. I wanted to go to the DEC. 2nd game as that's my bday but no way I'm gonna go to Oak. So I get to go to the KC game instead =P Have fun and stay safe if you go. I think the Raider fans have calmed down some since they don't really go to games expecting their team to win much anymmore.

I go to see the Broncos play here all the time and I have never had any problem with the Charger fans. There are usually plenty of Bronco fans in attendance. Some years it feels like a home game for Denver. I am kind of bummed that they play here on Christmas Eve. :tsk: Anyways, I hope you have fun at the "Black Hole" and come out safe and with a W.

I really like Charger stadium, and your right he game I was at had just as many Broncos fans as there where Charger fans (ok that might be a slight exageration) but I had a great time none the less!

I used to go way back when there was indeed more DEN fans than bolts fans.. one could not get tickets in DEN at almost any cost so the fans would go visit them on the road.. I went to OAK games when they were in LA... same thing only the fans were not total creeps like they are in OAK.Only thing you had to worry about was getting to and from the game in south central LA.. Saw at least 3 muggings happen walking from games after dark
