“Without him, I wouldn’t have played this year,” Stokley said of Manning. “There’s no doubt I’d be retired, probably about 20 pounds heavier, so, yeah, I owe him a lot for this year and a lot for my career in general. Coming from Baltimore, going to Indy, that kind of sparked my career, playing with him. Yeah, I owe the guy a lot.”

I don't know if he'll be starting next season, but for the veteran minimum he'll still be a good signing.

I think he's worth $1-2 million if it comes to it

All he does is convert 3rd down into first down.

The article is a bit misleading, it says he was released by the Giants.....

He was on IR and reached an injury settlement.

Yes, because he is on your team and he loves playing for the Broncos.

Ok....but it wasnt even near as painfull as watching Jones score on us with only a minute left in the game.

That Stokley play was pretty damn awesome for us Broncos fans though. I still can hear Gus Johnsons voice, "Stokleyyyyyy, down the sideline....woowwwwwww....Holy Toledo!!!"

Yes, because he is on your team and he loves playing for the Broncos.

Then he and Bronco fans have a fundamental disagreement.

Not this fan, Chaz. I'm a fan of Moore's. He played well this season and was
improving throughout. It follows the adage that if you've never made a mistake
you've never done anything.

That play involved technique that is very correctable (http://www.milehighreport.com/2013/1/17/3888392/throw-the-baby-out-with-the-bathwater), and I am sure they will
be working on that. I am sure we will never see that out of Rahim again. The
kid has speed and range, has developed into a good tackler, and has the guts
to stick his head in there to thump a little. Personally, I want him back there.

He's my new Kyle Orton. I hate him. And if he introduces himself as "The Dream" again I'll personally kick his ass.

I don't hate Moore and don't want him gone, but we shouldn't pretend that he just wasn't playing proper "technique" or that it was a coaching issue. Every safety from high school on up knows his responsibility is the deep man and you cannot let him behind you like that. Hopefully he'll learn from it..... at least I hope so.

It was way more than "just a mistake". He made 5 freaking mistakes on one play.

1. He lined up too shallow
2. WR runs a go route and he lets the WR run by him (should have stayed over top, no matter what)
3. Once he broke on the ball, he still could have overcome mistakes one and two, but he decided to play for the interception (instead of running to the WR and breaking it up).
4. As he was wildly flailing for the ball, like a retarded kid with palsy, he fell down and **** blocked Carter
5. He failed to kill himself as soon as the play was over

Ever since I said something bad about Darrent Williams just hours before he died on another message board I can't agree with number five, but I would also be lying if I didn't admit that I laughed.

For realz.

I dont/didnt have half the athletic skill he has but i knew how to play the position. Like i said in another thread but that play that he botched is one of the most fundamental duties as a safety. Given the circumstances i just cant understand what it was he was looking at too not be looking for a downfield throw. The Ravens were DESPERATE in that situation and he screwed up. Is it correctable? Yep. But it doesnt mean he didnt **** up the biggest play in the game.

I knew how to play DE, too, but I never took the ball to the wrong end zone as
Leon Lett did, yet he became a Pro Bowler for the Cowboys, when I couldn't
even become a starter on my own college team.

I can't disagree with much of anything that has been said here. But he messed
up a play. One play. I don't think there's a one of us, who has lived beyond
puberty, who hasn't messed something up, big time, at some time in his life.

All very true but again, this happened only a couple of weeks ago. Its still fresh, it still stings and its very disappointing because we were in a great position this year to do something special. If Denver can get to the bowl or win one in the next couple of years than all will be forgiven. But if not, its going to be constantly pointed at as a grand opportunity missed that came down in the end to a basic fundamental play that should of never happened. For Lett, the fact that Dallas won Super Bowls overshadowed his idiocy. Had they not you would probably hear more about it today than you already do. It was a blunder of a play much like Moore's was.

Sure, it stings. Speaking for myself, it's going to sting for a long time. Frankly,
1996 still stings, the ensuing Super Bowl championships notwithstanding.

But it's too bad Moore is singled out in this one. Sure, it was a bad play, the
worst I had ever seen from a defensive back, I think. But lost in the fray are
Manning's OT INT, the first quarter INT (which was not Manning's fault, but
the results were the same), Prater kicking a clod of grass over the cross bar
instead of the ball -- and those weren't the only boneheaded plays, as you
know.

But I think what really stings the most, for all of us, is that the Broncos
really did kick the Ravens' tails, except for three or four plays. The pretenders
are in the Super Bowl, while the better team is watching it on TV, and
everyone who doesn't have a home in Maryland knows it. And while the 49rs
are turning the Ravens every which way but loose, we'll all know that the
only team who could have launched a formidable challenge is not there. IMO.
