View Full Version : Pro Bowl might be hampered by rainy, windy weather

HONOLULU -- The Honolulu Star Advertiser on Sunday morning billed this year's Pro Bowl as Peyton Manning vs. Eli Manning, a battle of the brothers, with the headline: "Footballs Will Fly."

But hours away from kickoff of the NFL's all-star game -- a game that likely will determine if others are played in the future -- a weather system coming through Oahu could make footballs fly in all sorts of directions.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash-flood warning for the entire island of Oahu, including Honolulu where the game will be played. On Sunday morning, winds starting picking up, creating a choppy Pacific. A cold front is expected to bring showers with heavy rainfall to Oahu by the afternoon. Also, there's a chance of thunderstorms that could bring intense rain.

I will too, but if the effort is as bad as it was last year, I'll be done with it pretty quick.

Seems like from what the commentators are saying it will be more intense this year. Hope they are right.

I like Train too but I freaking hate pregame and halftime musical acts for football games. They are almost always terrible.

Since Hochuli is the head referee in the ProBowl, can he still be the head referee in the SB, or does that mean that another head referee graded better than he did this year?

Thoroughly Good game. AFC will make a comeback...Wish Schaub had gone to Thomas on the td, he was wide open in the back, but so was cribbs...not sure if that catch counts in the reg season

I think that TD "catch" by Cribbs is the Calvin Johnson rule, right?

Fox tried getting a little agressive this game with trick plays and such. I hope this doesnt mess with his mind for next year and makes him decide to stay conservative.

Anyhow yeah, you can tell that loss to the Ravens still stings Fox and the Broncos.

Overall, the Pro Bowl was entertaining to watch. Looks like the game has been saved for the future. Players gave at least a half assed effort. Having two left AFC CBs with # 24 and dark helmets was confusing at times.
Much more interest I think having it during super bowl week. Having it after the super bowl just deflates the pro bowl and nobody cares to watch

Exciting to know we will get von miller involved in the offense next year as a wide out, Derek Wolfe at tight end and fullback

Nope, it happened and the pass was intercepted. Not sure who's idea it was but there was maybe 4-5 gimmick plays in the game and none seemed to work. The 3 right now off the top of my head is the fumbled kick return that was a reverse, the botched onside kick where the kicker kicked it with his heel backwards and then they lined JJ Watt on the outside as a WR. It was kind of embarassing and I thought they were going to take the game serious this year, I know the players played harder this year but the coaches shouldnt be playing like nothing is on the line either.

Good grief. It's the Pro Bowl.

We officially made it less than one game before the play call whining started. And it wasn't even a Broncos game.

It's quite obvious that Gase plans to move Wolfe to WR. I'm not so sure about that strategy.

I totally agree. The gimmick plays were a crack up. I thought it was great to put JPP at cornerback and put JJ watt out wide and have them go head to head. The pass from Luck was terrible and JPP intercepted it.It was funny to watch.

The pro bowl should be fun to watch. Ya, it had a kinda Circus atmosphere, but so what. Its more like a party. For entertainment purposes.I liked the gimmicks. It was different than anything we have seen before. I would llke to see more of that next year. Would have loved to have seen Champ getting to play a little WR and have Manning throw to him. Stuff like that.
