UPDATE:

The memory test passed, but there are still segment faults and other issues that worries the techs at the data center. We are going to take the server down again tonight, at 1:00 MST and they are going to replace the CPU and memory. it shouldn't be down for more than a few hours.

I'll set an alarm to get up around 4:30 MST to make sure it's back up and everything is ok.

This should start at 1:00 MST tonight and take from 1-4 hours, depending on what they find.

Kicked off a backup on the server (even though there is scheduled one going off shortly as well), just as an extra precaution. About to go to bed and hope when I wake up everything is working correctly. :fingerscrossed:

Also, I started it a little later, so can't guarantee that it will finish before the support guys take the server down, but I am attempting to copy the linux account that houses BroncosForums and transfer it to a VPS (virtual private server) that I keep to do testing or if there is any lengthy downtime on the main server. Should have thought to transfer an updated copy to the VPS earlier, but I just remembered to do it.

If we had to fall back to the VPS, things would possibly run a little slow at times, but everything should function.

Ok, I transferred a copy of BF to the backup/test VPS. So, in a worst case scenario, I can migrate the domain over to this backup VPS pretty quickly. Heading to bed now and hopefully will wake up and find all this insurance work was for nothing.

got up at 2:00 and they hadn't done it yet. bumped the support ticket and said I would check back in two hours. They said they have now changed out teh CPU and Ram, so hopefully, that's the end of it and there are no problems going forward.

Back to bed for me.
