24-9 with nine minutes to go.

Anquan Boldin on fire. Ray Lewis back. Make no mistake this will be a different team than we played a few weeks ago.

31-10 that'll be the score next week. We'll win in a laugher.

Then 34-24 the week after against the Pats to go to the SB.

35-28 nail-biter rematch of SBXXXII. Lombardi #3 brought home to Denver.

It wont be close next week. Flacco will have a much different pass rush to deal with. He completed 5 passes at halftime at home today. He hadn't hit a WR until well into the 3rd Q today (IIRC).

The Broncos will gas em and the 4th Q will open up to become a Bronco blowout!

Because some of our posters like to take things to the extreme. A post like "I wouldn't take this team lightly, they can make it a close game" is responded to with "Why are you scared of this team? You really think we will lose?"

NightTrainLayne

I'm not looking forward to playing Baltimore again.

1. It's extremely difficult to beat any team in the NFL two times in the same season.
2. We embarrassed Baltimore in their home. They will take this personally.
3. We are on an absurd winning streak. It will be easy for our players to become too comfortable going into their first playoff game with a week off to boot.
4. They have more playoff experience than do we outside of Peyton Manning.

Whatever happens, I don't foresee us blowing them out.

jhildebrand
01-06-2013, 04:19 PM
I hear you NTL but Manning is now 9-2 against Baltimore. He has them on lock.

No. Because people believe they are that good or that much better. But as BTB stated, nothing that gets stated on this board decides what happens. You want to believe its going to be a close game, knock yourself out. Im far more confident as ive seen the Ravens play all year long and know the history with them.

At least we don't have to deal with the emotional high of Chuck Pagano and the Colts nor do we have to have a Luck vs Manning matchup. Don't get me wrong, I think the Colts is an easier matchup for us but anything can happened on gameday and if our season would have ended to Luck then it would have been a total disaster. The media would have said all season long how genius Irsay was for letting Manning go.

Saying that, Baltimore is also running on its own emotional high with the whole Ray Lewis retiring thing. But, they are still banged up and our defense is actually better than theirs, yes I said our defense is better than the Ravens! Our offense is also better than theirs and we have home field advantage. I don't think we blow them out but I do see us winning this game, in convincing fashion.

I see a sloppy Ravens team right now and a very hungry Broncos that are expecting to go further than we did last year. It's our time, not theirs.

The Ravens played the Colts. No offense to the Colts, but the Ravens gave up all that yardage to an inexperienced team that really only has Luck and Wayne as legit offensive weapons and a shoddy defense. Not to mention that Arians was hospitalized right before the game. Oh and they played in Baltimore, which is a tough place to play in. And they still have Joe Flacco under center. He's not that great.

The Ravens don't scare me. Broncos have gotten better each and every game, are on a bye week, and playing at home. Manning, Decker, Thomas, and Moreno will kick some major ass next week and the defense will be as sound and aggressive as they have all season. This is a disciplined Broncos team that has John Fox and Peyton Manning. They're not going to let anyone on their team slip up.

Go Broncos!

Hey North! I've been around as a lurker. But I figure I would post since it's playoff time and provide my opinion. It's exciting times as Broncos fans!

I'm bummed that I won't be able to see the game next week but this is a Ravens team that hasn't really improved. Their defense has been marred by injuries with a crap secondary. Manning and Decker will carve up Cary Williams like they did last game. And I don't think it matters as much that Ray Lewis is back other than to provide emotional intensity. Him, Suggs, and Reed aren't at 100%, and they have to endure the Mile High altitude.

The Ravens offense are...well, the Ravens offense. Flacco is terrible and the only viable threats that I think they have are Jacoby Jones on STs and Dennis Pitta. Boldin had a field day against former Bronco Cassius Vaughn today, but he's going up against Chris Harris, who shut him down to the point where Boldin angrily knocked him over for a penalty last game.

I feel good about next week. Real good.

I like our chances to win the game but the thing that really worries me is Denver's run game against Balt.

With Lewis back and some other key pieces in place on Balt's D, I doubt that Moreno or Ball/Hester will be too effective. I don't think Reed has forgotten about the "Hurdle" and will look to take Moreno's head off. Ray looked decent against the run against the Colts and the physicality went up a notch in the Colts game.

Manning will have to get it done through the air in shotgun as the play action will probably not be very effective. I do think the Ravens will wear down in the second half and the Broncos will put TDs on the board unlike the Colts and Flacco will have a hard time keeping up.

The Ravens D may be better than last time you played them, but their offense is really struggling. I expect the Ravens' offense to have a hard time keeping up with Peyton and the Broncos offense because they will put points on the boards against the Ravens D. Moreover, Peyton and the Broncos offense won't turn the ball over like Luck and the Colts' offense did. I expect the Broncos to win by about 10 points plus or minus a FG.

Mistakes are the only thing we should have to worry about next week. INTs, fumbles, dripped passes, etc.Holiday is the single greatest concern. the ravens will watch the tape, they will see the best way to defend PFM is to make sure he does not get on the field! They will be FOCUSED, practiced and INTENT on stripping HOLIDAY of the ball because they recognize hi as this teams achillies heal, even if some of you dont want to allow yourselves to see the REALITY !
I hope holiday does n ot play! I will take a fair catch for EVERY single punt, and the guarantee that PFM will have a chance to lead our offense!

This is where I am in all this. I think we have more talent than Bal. Up to now the Broncos have stayed more focus and on track. They won the games they are suppose to and have gotten better and better.

However Bal does have talent and I never underestimate a team trying to ban together to send out one of their own out on top. I'm just really glad they are coming to Denver.

FYI many Native Americans see the Raven as a hero. Since they are scavengers people can associated them with death.

Ray Lewis is a shell. He is nothing to worry about, especially with one bad wing. They will spread it out and abuse Lewis in the passing game. Flacco is a joke, especially on the road. No way in hell that guy outplays PFM. That will never happen. Their "amazing" defense can't stop the run...at all. Denver's run D is solid, so Rice shouldn't be much of a factor...actually, Rice is their only offensive weapon.

The only way they win is if we give the game away with turnovers.

They beat the Colts by amazing blocking by WRs for big gains (mostly by Boldin). Ray Lewis controls the defense and defensive audibles. he also led the team with 10+ tackles yesterday, I would not count him out. Flacco has on fire beginning of this season, enough so to beat the Pats. That is the team I fear, the one that beat the Pats. Like i said they are so unpredictable.

Let's not forget the thin air in Mile High, that has to play some sort of role on the old ravens defense. Especially Ray Lewis. Von and Doom need to be on their A-game from here on out till the end of the SB.

I keep thinking that the "Mile High, thin air" advantage has pretty well been erased over the years. I don't see it having the same effect as it used to.

Teams have employed science, and figured out how to mitigate a lot of that by getting oxygen ahead of time and then earlier in the game then they used to. Some teams elect to travel to Denver earlier to acclimate more before gametime as well, but that probably is impossible for Baltimore with it being a short week for them.

It's still an advantage, but I don't think it's anywhere near the advantage it was 20 years ago. Teams have figured out how to combat it pretty effectively.

This matchup makes me nervous. The Ravens are hitting their stride. They are a veteran playoff team. Plus, Manning seemed overly nostalgic after our Week 17 win over the Chiefs. Like he had just finished a marathon and was ready to reminisce. Makes me nervous that maybe he won't be able to flip the switch back on. All of those things combined with coming off a bye week doesn't leave me feeling supremely confident.

They also kept Indy out of the end zone. Ray Lewis returned from injury and knocked off some of the rust and didn't look as bad as I thought he would. They moved Oher to RT and McKinnie to LT for last week's game on offense which makes their OL more effective. Flacco connected on a few deep balls, which is pretty much the only thing that makes him dangerous. He and Boldin are playing with a lot of confidence.

They're confident because they beat a 10-6 team that had the talent and skill of a 7-9 or 8-8 team. The Colts are not a playoff football team. They got lucky (no pun intended). Their deep balls were mostly bad coverage that could have/should have been deflected or picked off. Let Baltimore be confident because Cassius Vaughan and Vontea Davis (or any of their corners) aren't Champ Bailey and Chris Harris/Tracy Porter/Tony Carter. Bathea is also overrated (and no one can say his name right wich pisses me the hell off). Suggs also re-aggravated his Achilles tendon last week and said that the reason he didn't come out of the game was because he wanted to win it for Ray. That tells me that had Ray Lewis been on the sideline, T-Sizzle would've come out. Lets also not overlook the fact that Ray Rice put the ball on the ground last week and their backup RB rushed for over 100 yards. The same as last game, if you take away their run game and make Flacco have to throw the ball and force him to make mistakes, which he is prone to doing, they can't move the ball for shit. So I still fail to see how winning one game and getting a few players back from injury is really "hitting their stride". Not saying you don't make good points, but I am saying that you're giving Baltimore too much credit.
