View Full Version : No time off for Broncos' Peyton Manning in game 16

Brock Osweiler is no Jim Sorgi.

In so many of Peyton Manning's best seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, Game 16 belonged to backup quarterback Sorgi.

But with the Broncos needing to win Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs to clinch the AFC's No. 2 playoff seed while maintaining a chance for the No. 1 seed, Manning is expected to play the entire game.

The rookie Osweiler might get his third consecutive chance for the kneeldown in the "victory formation." But the Broncos aren't about to presume victory is theirs.

well its clear that PFM will start the game, but lets hope he does not have to finish it !
as for brock not being SORGI, dear lord he better not be !
this article does address the question of resting players in the final week of the season.

you can rest when you are dead, imo. that's the way they have to toe the line if they want to make a splash in the playoffs. they have to get down to brass tacks, take the bull by the horns and have the horse sense to go out there and "get er done" in the words of larry the cable guy, my idol and probably the best bronco out there imo

best case scenario; we go up by 21 in the first half, and fox can rest anyone he feels might benefit from the time off the field. he can also play some back-ups and give them some more PT before the play-offs.
top priority, win the game. second priority, avoid injury.
can anyone dispute that, no.
yes the risk of injury is omnipresent, but the chances are significantly less on the sideline.

I would love to see players sit this game who are not 100% and then see Os get some playing time. But I have to agree with Zam, a win is a must.

Wut? Sorgi only played those final games when the Colts had everything locked up. The Broncos don't have everything locked up, hence, Manning will play the whole game. Worst trolling attempt ever.
