Or does Football season go TOO quickly?

As far as I'm concerned, since hockey season started early last month, football season is as good as over. The Avs have the 2nd most points in the west right now and they're kicking arse. Woo hoo!

good point and my Canes are the only team to beat Ottawa this year
and have scored the most goals in the NHL so far and hopefully can
capture the magic they had in 2005-2006:salute:

Ottawa is always great during the regular season, but never does squat in the playoffs. I mean, they win in the playoffs, but never attain the ultimate. I like Ottawa (because they're in the East). Regardless of who is good in the east, I sure hope someone knocks off Detroit this year. I can't stand the Red Wings.

My "other" football team is top of the English Premiership as well. I still think that Football season is going too quickly though.

I watched Rugby on some British channel we have here the other day. Man that stuff is exciting. I think it was exibition, but it was the UK vs New Zeland and the UK team was winning something like 36-0. Exciting to watch though...some BRUTAL hits.

Rugby isn't really my thing.

But, I agree, they take some very brutal hits. They are some tough men.

Damn SR... Are you serious?

The last 36-0 I've seen was South-Africa against England... But SA beat UK :D

Rugby is fun when it comes to Internationals and Heineken Cup.
Soccer is fun too (especially Internationals and Champions League).
F1 is great !!! (but more the season is over)

Football is my fav. I agree with Wookie... The season runs too fast !

I'm really getting in to Rugby. I've been watching on a channel called BFBS, I think. It's a British channel and they play a lot of Rugby and Soccer, but I can't get in to Soccer.

And yes, the score was that bad. The Kiwis couldn't move the ball for squat and they kept turning it over. Those guys all had legs like tree trunks too.

BTW, there were no Internationals lately (since the World Cup)...
Or was it a non pro game? (something like college game?)

Some former rugby players tried football... For example, Richard Tardits was a rugby player (he even played for the "Espoirs" (hopes) French team), then became a college star LB and even a pro player (unfortunately, he was injured and he was too light for a NFL LB).

I think that may have been Rugby League, not Rugby Union...........

I think that may have been Rugby League, not Rugby Union...........Sorry... i'm not too aware of rugby...

What's the difference ? 15 or 13 players?

It was an exibition game, the announcers kept saying that and they kept saying that NZ hasn't been beaten like that by the UK in some time. I'm not sure if the game was live or not, but I look forward to the next time I can catch a game on that channel.

I'm not to sure, to be honest, I know that's one of them, along with a 5 or six tackle rule that's similar to the down system..............(except I think it's the length of the pitch, rather than 10 yards.........

Just had a look at the BBC Sport website, and Great Britain beat New Zealand 44-0 on Saturday ~ Report (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_league/7074490.stm) to take a 2-0 lead in the 3 match series, so I'm guessing that what you saw was the first test

That could be it. I don't remember the exact score, but I know the Kiwis were getting shut out.

Never really gotten into Rugby League.

It's primarliy a northern, working class game....................the suspicion is that they play 13 a side to save on the cost of two kits ;)
