ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -- Tight ends are no longer an afterthought in Denver's passing game.

In 2009, they had all of 27 catches.

Last year, that number was just 30 - not a single one of them in the end zone - as they were basically used as big bruising blockers in Tim Tebow's read-option offense.

More weapons for Manning, the better. Dressen has been solid, but I expected a lot more from Tamme. And Virgil Green provides solid run blocking ability and pass catching ability. If only Julius Thomas was out there...he'd be great with his athleticism.

I think our TEs have been a HUGE part of our offense. They create some miss matches on those 3rd downs that are so huge. Very nice additions to the team.

well duh, so is every other eligeable receiver !
the OlIne desrerves more attention than the TE
they have been KEY in keeping peyton clean and upright and for opening up the legitimate run game!

I don't think anyone has said that the TEs are 'THE' key.. but certainly the new TEs are adding yet another dimension to the team thats helping the turnaround.
