So NFL.com did a story of potential landing places for Babin. They listed the Broncos stating:

"Similar logic here as with the Patriots. Babin doesn't have much value as a run-stuffer, but any Super Bowl contender -- and the Broncos fit in that category -- should investigate whether Babin will make them more dangerous for the stretch run."

I'm thinking he would be a pretty expensive pick up and I don't think we really need him with Doom and Wolfe, but is it worth actually looking at him? Would his pass-rush ability put the D that much further ahead?

As a pass rusher, I certainly like him more than Wolfe...but he's useless against the run

That was my thinking as well. He would have a pretty expensive contract for a guy who may only be a pass-rush specialist. It's not like Wolfe never gets to the QB as well.

Not as much as you'd like from a DE, but I prefere Wolfe inside anyway. In JDR's scheme, I just dont see Babin excelling. If we could get out to two score leads early...might be another story...but we dont seem to turn it on until late. I'd pass on Babin

If I'm not mistaken Denver has already stated they are interested.

I guess I just dont agree with the pricetag. But if it's just for the rest of the year...so be it. Depth is ok with me.

Yeah, moving Wolfe inside would be a good idea. We could roll with Ayers and Doom on the edges. I like this.

Babin would make life really interesting for opposing QBs on passing downs. Babin, Doom AND Von coming at you? Yeesh.

But he can't really defend the run. He's not overly expensive, especially because I believe we wouldn't take a salary cap hit (just like the Eagles won't) if we had to cut him at the end of his contract because Babin was previously cut by the Seahawks and took termination pay, and you can't keep doing that. Somebody check me on that. And moving Wolfe inside works okay for me, too.

So he would be ours for around DJ money the next 3 years as another pass-rushing dynamo. There are worse things. I don't expect to claim him, though, especially with our defensive love of bigger DL.

If that's the case (no money concern) then why not look at him. My main concern was the money factor as I wouldn't want them to pay a lot for a guy who would essentially be a situational player.. They could rotate Wolfe and Babin on running and passing downs. Agreed with Doom, Babin and Miller all coming. That's a definite triple threat. As to the love of bigger DL, Babin is bigger than Doom.

Didn't Vic Lombardi tweet and say the team wasn't interested?

Yeah, but Doom was already here with a retarded contract before Fox and JDR

The Jags were second in line. Only KC was before them.

Another fail by the Chiefs IMO.

Well to be fair, I dont think he fits a 34 scheme. Im not sure why the Jags want him. Maybe they think he will show something to help get their team going next season.

They'll probably try to stand him up since pass rushing is all he can do.

Odd move by the Jags. Too small for a 3-4 DE or are the going to try to convert him to an OLB at 32? It doesn't make sense unless someone in the front office is already planning to ditch Mularkey and bring in a guy who is 4-3 minded.

Who knows what is going on with that organization.

I bet Babin is thrilled to be a Jag.

I'm just glad he's not a Patriot
