Working alongside King Soopers grocery stores, Manning's foundation will provide 500 families with ties to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Denver with a Thanksgiving meal Thursday. Each meal, consisting of a 10- to 13-pound precooked turkey, stuffing, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, dinner rolls and pumpkin pie, can feed six to eight.

Counting the people Manning will help in Indianapolis, where his foundation is more established, the quarterback will be responsible for feeding upward of 10,000 people.

what his foundation ius doing is obviously more important, but i hope one day PFM can feed our desire for another lombardi.
PFM should have an "I fed 10 thousand people" victory dance !

feeding the hungry is benevolent, but...
if they are homesless the best thing would be...
to move them to safety.

Did you even read the article? No, didn't think so.

For everyone else, it's a really good article that goes beyond just the turkey dinners his foundation is providing. It's well worth the few minutes to read.

You are welcome, and I totally agree. I liked the whole article, and the following caught my eye:

For Peyton, he has been all in with Colorado, more specifically the Denver area, since he signed with the Broncos as a free agent on March 20.

"You don't rush things," he said. "You try to get acclimated, but there are things you are supposed to do when you play for an NFL team and I believe one of them is you are supposed to live there.

"You are supposed to be part of the community and you are supposed to give back. It's not a part-time job. You don't play somewhere for six months, go someplace else and come back.

So don't stand on the corner and call attention to what you are doing. But people find out about it, and if it encourages others to share or give back, that's how I've always approached it. We've got a lot of players who have given their time and energy to help people."

this is the part that caught my attention.
genuine, not contrived philanthropy. doing it for the needy, not for the publicity.
excellent article for thanksgiving.
