Per Mike Klis on 102.3 he thinks the Broncos are likely to sign Hester next week depending on how things go in KC. He said he doesn't think they will sign Slaton.

Oh great. A white running back.

I think they should sign Hester and cut Gronk. Hester has more value as a short yardage runner, receiver, and special teams player.
Gronk, IMO, is the most useless roster spot currently on this team.

I really like Hester in college and coming into the NFL. I had always hoped he'd land in Denver. He usually does on Madden.

Yeah, he's not fast. But he's got the McGahee frame, and can knock out a tough 4-6 yards. Which I think is the biggest need in McGahee's absence.

Klis talked about McGahee being most effective against nickel defenses because 6-7 guys in the box had a tough time bringing him down. We need a bigger back to run downhill.

Without googling (rational:lol:), what position is Gronk?

Especially considering Tamme and Dressen can do anything he can.

You believe? How are you going to say he is the most useless roster spot on the team if you don't know for certain what position he plays?

That would be the reason, he was a FB on one team he was on and TE on another, so I'm not sure exactly what position the Denver Broncos list him as....he only sees the field on special teams, something that Hester has always excelled at.

Can you tell me one offensive play that he's been in on?
How many special teams plays has he made?
He seems like a cool guy, he even bought Bronco Zubaz for all the fellas, but I think Hester would have more production on this team and would create a better niche.

He's not wearing 18, though :D

as it should be. hester is objectively better than slaton. in regards to what the broncos lost in mcgahee and what we need to try to replace, he's miles better.

I like the idea of us having a white running back again.

White running backs barely count.

White running backs barely count.

Maybe it's because there are so few of them.

I'd rather have Hester than Ball tbh. Certainly a better fit than Slaton. Decent hands and if nothing else, he'll soften up some defenders for Hillman or Moreno.

Bah, I totally missed this thread. Please kill my thread on Jacob Hester if it slips through moderation. Thanks!

Anyway, I like Hester. He will give us a real power runner semi-fullback for short-yardage situations. And he can block. Hopefully, he can pick up the schemes quick (or just listen when Peyton tells him who's coming).

I like the idea of us having a back that can move the ball forward.

He is super slow.....just hand the ball to a 300 pound guy in short yardage.....F=MA

Hester is definitely the prototype FB. The only problem, in 23 games started he has 4 fumbles so if your someone who hates turning it over be cautious.

Mary Paoletti of Comcast SportsNet New England reported that Addai was struggling during his conditioning test Wednesday ... and just "quit."

And that was it for Addai's Patriots tenure.
