My how things have changed since our 1st meeting. Here's what I said was at stake the 1st time:


What would a loss to the Chargers mean?

1) We fall 2 games behind the Chargers for the division with 10 games to go.

2) The Chargers would not only be half way to sweeping us, but the entire division as well. This would give them the inside track for the tie breaker; making us as good as 3 games behind them with 10 to go.

3) We’d be 0-3 against teams that will probably be making the play-offs. I would have said 0-4 before the Patriots losing to the Seahawks today. It’s not that I think that the Seahawks are that bad, nor would I say that I think that the Patriots are not going to make the play-offs, it’s that they just don’t seem like a sure shot at anything this year.

4) We would be 1 game behind 4 teams (Jets, Bill, Dolphins & Bengals), ½ game behind the Steelers & Colts, for the 2 wildcard spots. At least we do have the tie Break against the Steelers. :D

So what would winning this game mean to us?

1) Broncos will be on the verge of winning the division with 6 games to go.
---a. 3 game + tie breaker = 4 game lead over San Diego
---b. 4 game lead over Oakland, 5 if they lose to New Orleans
---c. 5 game lead over Kansas City, 6 if they lose to Cincinnati

2) Broncos might improve their play-offs seeding.
---a. There’s a good chance that we could jump over the Patriots, if they lose to the Colts
---b. We could tie with the Ravens, who we’ll be playing in 4 weeks, if they lose to the Steelers.

They were cleared of that charge. It's funny because although they were cleared, they were fined $20K. I think they realized so many other teams were using that "towel" that it was easier to say they didn't do anything wrong than actually admitting they screwed up letting everyone use it. Well, this was a bad trip, gin and tonic that day, a couple days earlier, tequila shots. Normally, when we move away from beer, it's single malt with water on the side. Don't do that rocks shit. This game will go a long way to deciding where our focus should be for the rest of the season. If we win, we more or less lock up the division and we can consider ourselves one of the big boys and focus on conference standings. If we lose, then we need to take a step back and just worry about taking the division and let the conference chips fall where they may.
