Broncos defensive end Elvis Dumervil did not participate in practice Wednesday because of a strained left shoulder.

An MRI on Dumervil's left shoulder Monday revealed no tear, but there was a muscle strain. If Dumervil doesn't play Sunday against the San Diego Chargers at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, he would be replaced by Robert Ayers.

Me too. I cringe any time Manny Ramirez steps on the field. I bet Peyton does too.

really? i'd be damn excited if he simply stayed consistent. look at Ayers' line against Carolina: tackles (five), sacks (one), sack yards (12) and pass breakups (two).

That's a GREAT day for most DEs, much less a backup.

I'd rather Doom take a week off and get close to 100% than play and make it worse or have it nag him the rest of the season.
