CINCINNATI — X-rays revealed no break in the left ankle of Broncos guard Chris Kuper. At this point, the snakebit Kuper will take any non-bad news he can get.

He did suffer a severely sprained left ankle during the third quarter of the Broncos' 31-23 win here Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Kuper had to be helped off the field.

Despite the encouraging X-rays, Kuper is expected to miss some time.

I hate that he seems so nagged by injuries lately. The first thing I thought of when he went out was I'm glad Manny has so much experience already.

I hope he's ready to go by the time the playoffs start.

Unfortunately, sometimes a sprain can take longer to heal than a break.
