DOVE VALLEY — It has been nearly a decade since Willis McGahee suffered a horrific knee injury in his final college football game. But McGahee hasn’t forgotten what that injury felt like physically and emotionally.

That’s a big reason why last week he tracked down the cell phone number for Denver South running back Phillip Lindsay, a University of Colorado recruit, to offer encouragement. Lindsay tore his ACL on Aug. 31 and had surgery last week.

I tore my acl in 1996, where were you then McGahee??????

Actually, props. A shattered femur ended my oh-so-promising career as a slow 5-9" white freshman RB. Though I came back after 13 months of rehab I was sort of a ***** (not unlike Eric Decker). Maybe if McGahee had called I would have manned up. His career has been GREAT considering. He's a man.
