What kind of circus is the NFL office running here?

There is a report by ESPN that Broncos coach John Fox and defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio will be fined roughly $20,000 for their disrputive behavior Monday night in Atlanta.

The Broncos aren’t completely surprised by the report. They may have been even expecting as much. Fox in particular went over-the-top with his protests of the way the replacement officials called the Broncos’ 27-21 loss to the Falcons.

The Broncos would have been less surprised by the report, though, had they received notification of punishment. As of now, Fox and Del Rio still haven’t been notified by the league that they have been, or will be, fined.

If they get fined and this was a leak, unacceptable.

So, Fox and Del Rio get fined, but Jim Harbaugh's continuous complaining, cursing at the officials, getting in their face, and all around douchebageriness is okay?

Whatever...

Here it goes, not only do you have to bend over and take shitty calls from completely unqualified officials, but now you can't even question them when they are wrong... Serious damage control by the NFL. This official labor dispute has become a fiasco.

I will agree with this.

Fox looked like an ass with the 12 men thing, wasting a challenge just to be condescending.

What hypocrisy! The NFL puts an inferior product on the field that results in a
loss, and they fine the coaches for getting upset. Neither Fox nor Del Rio, in all
their many combined years in the league, has ever gone that far over the top.
All the league would have to do to stop it is to put the real refs back on the
field..

DENVER -- John Fox and Jack Del Rio will be examples to coaches around the NFL.

The league has warned coaches not to be too hard on replacement officials and it apparently means business. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Fox, Denver’s head coach, and Del Rio, Denver’s defensive coordinator, will be fined by the league for their actions in a 27-21 loss to Atlanta on Monday night. Schefter reports the NFL plans to fine the pair up to $20,000 each.

So, if Schefter is correct - MUCH better for the NFL to let ESPN know FIRST, rather than the two involved :tsk:

There was a report Sunday by ESPN that Broncos coach John Fox and defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio would be fined by the league for the way they hollered and screamed at the replacement refs during their team’s 27-21 loss at Atlanta last Monday night.

The report was news to Fox and Del Rio for they had not been notified by the league prior to the report.

Today comes an ESPN report that Fox will be fined $30,000 while Del Rio will be fined $25,000. Again, the specific dollar amounts are news to the Broncos coaches — they have yet to be notified of any punishment by the league.

Fox and Del Rio, by the way, demonstrated far calmer sideline decorum in the game Sunday against Houston.

True...But Fox's treatment of the officials was more unacceptable to me.

Very unprofessional IMO.

Two wrongs don't make a right. That's bush league of the NFL to leak this before even telling the coaches.

Can't say I don't agree with you there...Just saying it doesn't make the fine unwarranted just because it was leaked.

I honestly don't see the unfair treatment to the replacement refs. Caoches have been yelling at refs for years. When did this become a new issue???

It's just a scape goat for replacement ref news and people are watching it more. How quickly we forget about Shanahan on the sidelines yelling at refs. Go watch Gruden highlights....

Fine him 1/3rd of the gut, and 100k for being himself, then 75k for losing control.

Why not? The league office has shown there is no class whatsoever among the bunch, so why not go all the way?

Denver Broncos coach John Fox filed an appeal Friday with the NFL office contesting his $30,000 fine for inappropriate behavior toward the replacement officiating crew, according to a league source.

There's a sense among the coaches recently fined for misconduct with the replacement officials could disappear -- like the replacement officials themselves. But a league source says that the fines for Fox, Bill Belichick, Jack Del Rio and Kyle Shanahan will not be rescinded.

A Broncos source said that Fox has never previously been fined and believed the presence of replacement officials working NFL games at the time of his incident was a factor the league should consider in behavior that is atypical of Fox and other coaches who were disciplined.

The fine for Belicheat isn't near enough. A player doing the same thing would've faced a game suspension, so should Belicheat.
