NFL Network is reporting that the NFL has approved moving the trade deadline to week 8 instead of week 6, and that teams will be able to return one player previously placed on IR to the active roster.

This means we might be able to reactivate Hunter or someone else who might land on IR when they are healthy. I like the change.

Thoughts?

From article:

Going forward, a team who wishes to bring a player back that player must be "designated for return" at the same time they are put on IR after the 53-man roster cut.

Since the Broncos have already placed Hunter on IR, and it was before the 53-man roster cut, with this change coming today, I would assume Hunter would be eligible to come off IR??????

Additionally, the Broncos placed defensive end Jason Hunter on injured reserve.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — The NFL the the NFL Players Association agreed on Thursday to make a change to the injured reserve rules that would allow one player to return at some point later in the season.

The team can designate only one player all season to return from injured reserve.

What does this mean for the Broncos?

The team currently has four players on injured reserve: defensive end Jason Hunter (triceps); wide receivers D’Andre Goodwin (ankle) and Tyler Grisham (knee); and running back Mario Fannin (Achilles).

I like the move personally. Always felt week 6 was a little early.
