With the Broncos' second- and third-stringers expected to get the bulk of — if not all of — the playing time in the final preseason game Thursday night against Arizona, the starters were able to start preparing this week for the Sept. 9 season opener against Pittsburgh.

The Broncos had two prac- tices this week between last weekend's game against San Francisco and Thursday's game against the Cardinals.

"It was a weird week," said tight end Jacob Tamme, one of the offensive players who spent time working with Peyton Manning on passing routes during special-teams drills Wednesday.

Starting Offensive line should play a couple quarters. Not enough hitting practices and they need to use these games. Even Manning should go in and run a few plays. Nothing like the practice of a real game. Eli played last night into the second quarter.

I'm ready for some BRONCOS football. Opening at Mile High on a Sunday night against the Steelers, it better be all ORANGE in the stands! BRONCOS need to make a statement to begin the season.
