Could it really be 24 years since Dave Studdard played on the offensive line for the Broncos?

The way that big "hoss" played tackle, it made it easy to think he would be there forever. He was a bodyguard playing for quarterbacks Craig Morton and John Elway. And, at 6-foot-4, 260 pounds, he earned a merit badge for keeping them out of harm's way.

During his 10 seasons in Denver, 1979-88, the Broncos went to two Super Bowls, had seven winning seasons and had two at .500. Studdard started his first three seasons at right tackle, moved to right guard for a season, and then was a rock at the tough left tackle position the rest of his career until a knee injury in his second Super Bowl game hampered him in his final season. Before the injury, Studdard missed only two games in the first nine years.
