Preseason football can be the ultimate phony. Perhaps it's the regular-season prices illogically stamped on the tickets, but preseason football has fooled its share of people over the years, both inside and outside the NFL.

The good may not really be that good and the bad may not be all that bad.

So it is with that caveat we look at Thursday's rather solid-looking effort by the Broncos.

There were 14 scouts from future Bears' and Broncos' opponents who had requested credentials for the game. And an informal survey of several of them raised some points worth consideration.

Just like the article talks about, Franklin would probably be a beast at RG. If we can find a dependable RT, moving Franklin inside and Kuper to LG is a no brainer. Both can help Walton and Franklin will be a monster playing in a "phone booth" where he can go straight ahead and not have to get his big ass moving laterally with outside speed rushers.
