The time has come to dust ourselves off from one heckuva wild offseason, an impact draft for many teams to see which teams has made a move from last season and which have fallen in the NFL gutter (also known as Detroit, sorry guys). Plenty of teams made big moves in free agency, plus the return to health of stars in New England and San Diego should provide the Steelers serious challenges in the AFC.

FOX SPORTS NFL POWER RANKINGS RK Team REC CHG High/Low Comment

1 Steelers 12-4-0 - 1/1 SUMMER STRENGTH: The reigning champs should contend again thanks to a clutch 26-year-old franchise QB with two rings, plus the best defense in football. CAMP CONCERN: In the NFL's Parity Era, no team is perfect.
SUMMER STRENGTH: The reigning champs should contend again thanks to a clutch 26-year-old franchise QB with two rings, plus the best defense in football.
CAMP CONCERN: In the NFL's Parity Era, no team is perfect. The Steelers were suspect on the O-line for most of '08, must improve their red-zone offense (before the winning touchdown in the Super Bowl, the Steelers ran 13 red-zone plays, gaining just two yards) and need a new punter. But these are minor tweaks for a franchise ready for another title run in 2009.
COOL STAT: Big Ben engineered six game-winning fourth-quarter drives last season.

2 Patriots 11-5-0 - 2/2 SUMMER STRENGTH: Let the air show begin! The man named Brady is back this summer, on full display with a slew of big-time targets — Randy Moss, Wes Welker, No. 3 WR Joey Galloway, plus the usual suspects out of the backfield and TE spots for quick reads and dump-offs.
SUMMER STRENGTH: Let the air show begin! The man named Brady is back this summer, on full display with a slew of big-time targets — Randy Moss, Wes Welker, No. 3 WR Joey Galloway, plus the usual suspects out of the backfield and TE spots for quick reads and dump-offs.
CAMP CONCERN: Besides all the Pats fans praying Brady doesn't get hurt again this summer, for now the LB spot is a question heading into camptime with vets Junior Seau and Mike Vrabel gone and an aging Tedy Bruschi in the middle. Will Seau or long-time Patriot Willie McGinest make a late-camp return?
COOL STAT: Despite missing the playoffs due to tiebreakers, New England led the AFC East in both scoring offense and defense last season.

3 Eagles 9-6-1 - 3/3 SUMMER STRENGTH: Several things are looking up in Philly — a happy QB, a rebuilt offensive line with plenty of upside and real-life WRs, all buoyed by the NFL's No. 3 defense in 2008.
SUMMER STRENGTH: Several things are looking up in Philly — a happy QB, a rebuilt offensive line with plenty of upside and real-life WRs, all buoyed by the NFL's No. 3 defense in 2008.
CAMP CONCERN: Even though there is apparent insurance with second-rounder LeSean McCoy, the RB spot could get sketchy if 30-year-old Brian Westbrook can't come back after he's expected to miss most/all of training camp following ankle surgery.
COOL STAT: Eagles wide receivers caught 197 passes last season, most ever in the Andy Reid era.

4 Falcons 11-5-0 - 4/4 SUMMER STRENGTH: Arthur Blank, you are one lucky guy. Two years removed from the Michael Vick/Bobby Petrino debacles and collapse of the team, the Falcons are Super Bowl contenders with franchise QB Matt Ryan, RB Michael Turner, Pro Bowl WR Roddy White and now future HOF tight end Tony Gonzalez.
SUMMER STRENGTH: Arthur Blank, you are one lucky guy. The offense is an embarrassment of riches, and it will be fun watching Ryan get acquainted with Gonzo this summer.
CAMP CONCERN: How much has the defense improved, if at all, in losing five-time Pro Bowl LB Keith Brooking? Head coach Mike Smith hopes free-agent addition Mike Peterson (benched in Jacksonville last season) can pick up the slack.
COOL STAT: The Falcons were front-runners in 2008, going 11-0 when scoring first and 0-6 when the opposition scored first.

5 Cardinals 9-7-0 - 5/5 SUMMER STRENGTH: The most impressive achievement from last year's Super Bowl run was breaking through on a culture change where many had failed before head coach Ken Whisenhunt and QB Kurt Warner.
SUMMER STRENGTH: The most impressive achievement from last year's Super Bowl run was breaking through on a culture change where many had failed before head coach Ken Whisenhunt and QB Kurt Warner. The confidence gained from success should fuel the organization as long as Warner and his band of WRs stay healthy.
CAMP CONCERN: On paper, first-round RB Chris "Beanie" Wells might solve the running game problems ... but paper can be flimsy, as was the health of the former Buckeye RB at times in college. And due to NCAA finals restrictions, the rookie missed most of Arizona minicamps.
COOL STAT: The Cardinals ranked 32nd (yes, dead last) in the NFL last season in rushing with 73.6 ypg.

6 Titans 13-3-0 - 6/6 SUMMER STRENGTH: QB Kerry Collins' play-action fakes should fake more guys out than David Blaine, thanks to a bone-crushing offensive line and dynamic duo at RB with Lendale White and Chris Johnson, whatever their nicknames are these days.
SUMMER STRENGTH: QB Kerry Collins' play-action fakes should fake more guys out than David Blaine, thanks to a bone-crushing offensive line and dynamic duo at RB with Lendale White and Chris Johnson, whatever their nicknames are these days.
CAMP CONCERN: Besides wondering if backup QB Vince Young is a lost cause, Titans fans are most concerned with any potential fall-out from missing Defensive POY Albert Haynesworth.
COOL STAT: Tennesee finished with the No. 2-ranked scoring defense last season, allowing a mere 14.6 ppg.

7 Giants 12-4-0 - 7/7 SUMMER STRENGTH: How are the Giants going to find playing time for all of their defensive linemen? Is a new, innovative 9-1-1 defense in the plans? Maybe not, but even deep backups impressed in spring minicamps, let alone the healthy Osi Umenyiora, Justin Tuck and the swarm of new additions.
SUMMER STRENGTH: How are the Giants going to find playing time for all of their defensive linemen? Is a new, innovative 9-1-1 defense in the plans? Maybe not, but even deep backups impressed in spring minicamps, let alone the healthy Osi Umenyiora, Justin Tuck and the swarm of new additions.
CAMP CONCERN: No surprise here, WR is the big concern after the Giants lost four of their last five games of '08 as the passing game stumbled without Plaxico Burress down the stretch. Now their starters are Steve Smith and Domenik Hixon, with no surefire, go-to guy for Eli Manning.
COOL STAT: The Giants averaged 29.3 ppg through November last season, but just 17.2 ppg in December-January.

8 Panthers 12-4-0 - 8/8 SUMMER STRENGTH: This is definitely a John Fox team, constructed on offense around a dominant ground game that ranked third in the NFL last season with a franchise record 2,437 rushing yards and 30 TDs.
SUMMER STRENGTH: This is definitely a John Fox team, constructed on offense around a dominant ground game that ranked third in the NFL last season with a franchise record 2,437 rushing yards and 30 TDs. The backs are stacked, with the DeAngelo Williams/Jonathan Stewart combo spiced up with rookie third-round speedster Mike Goodson, and the strong O-line returns all five starters to camp.
CAMP CONCERN: Can a secondary that was torched in Carolina's 33-13 playoff loss to Arizona erase the trauma this summer?
COOL STAT: Including their wild-card loss at Arizona, the Panthers gave up 30+ points in five of their last seven games.

9 Chargers 8-8-0 - 9/9 SUMMER STRENGTH: One of the deeper teams in the league the past several years, the Bolts again are stacked with potential starters set to push for playing time this summer. And if LT is the old LT, let the NFL be warned.
SUMMER STRENGTH: One of the deeper teams in the league the past several years, the Bolts again are stacked with potential starters set to push for playing time this summer. And if LT is the old LT, let the NFL be warned.
CAMP CONCERN: If Shawne Merriman returns to the field and is truly "Lights Out" once again, the Chargers defense should be back on attack after mudding through 2008. If he's limping around the practice field, forget any Super Bowl dreams.
COOL STAT: After leading the NFL with 30 interceptions in 2007, the Chargers only picked off 15 passes in '08.

10 Colts 12-4-0 - 10/10 SUMMER STRENGTH: Regardless of which assistant calls the plays or the fact that Marvin Harrison is a Colt no longer, Peyton Manning will still be the coach on the field during two-a-days and in the season when it matters.
SUMMER STRENGTH: Regardless of which assistant calls the plays or the fact that Marvin Harrison is a Colt no longer, Peyton Manning will still be the coach on the field during two-a-days and in the season when it matters. Harrison or not, the offense is littered with weapons and a solid offensive line.
CAMP CONCERN: Despite successful offseason efforts to beef up the front four on defense, linebacker is a bit of a question mark on the edges around middle backer Gary Brackett.
COOL STAT: The Colts are 117-59 in the regular season in the Peyton Manning era, but just 7-8 in the playoffs (Manning owns 70.4 passer rating and Colts averaging just 13.6 ppg in the eight playoff losses).

11 Vikings 10-6-0 - 11/11 SUMMER STRENGTH: On defense, having no worries about the Williams run-stopping duo suspended for the season's first quarter is huge. On offense, the Vikes are stocked with speed, speed and more speed — with rushing champ Adrian Peterson along with WRs Bernard Berrian (NFL-high 20.1 yards per catch in '08) and flashy rookie Percy Harvin.
SUMMER STRENGTH: On defense, having no worries about the Williams run-stopping duo suspended for the season's first quarter is huge. On offense, the Vikes are stocked with speed, speed and more speed — with rushing champ Adrian Peterson along with WRs Bernard Berrian (NFL-high 20.1 yards per catch in '08) and flashy rookie Percy Harvin.
CAMP CONCERN: It's the Summer of Favre in Minnesota. If Brett Favre joins the Vikings, will his arm hold up and will he divide the locker room? If he doesn't, can the Vikes go anywhere with the Tarvaris/Sage combo?
COOL STAT: The Vikings have led the NFL in rushing defense for three straight seasons, allowing 74.1 rush ypg or less in each season.

12 Ravens 11-5-0 - 12/12 SUMMER STRENGTH: Despite the exodus of defensive coordinator Rex Ryan, LB Bart Scott and others, the defense still employs one of the best linebackers in NFL history (Ray Lewis), his talented young understudy (Terrell Suggs) and the best safety in football (Ed Reed).
SUMMER STRENGTH: Despite the exodus of defensive coordinator Rex Ryan, LB Bart Scott and others, the defense still employs one of the best linebackers in NFL history (Ray Lewis), his talented young understudy (Terrell Suggs) and the best safety in football (Ed Reed).
CAMP CONCERN: Like you have to ask ... wide receiver, which was an issue before leading receiver Derrick Mason announced his impromptu retirement (or contract ploy, depending on whom you believe).
COOL STAT: In his last 11 regular-season games, Joe Flacco went 9-2 with 13 TD passes and five interceptions.

13 Cowboys 9-7-0 - 13/13 SUMMER STRENGTH: The best part of the Cowboys A.D. (After Distractions, mostly from T.O.) is that this summer's offense will show off a shift to more of a ground game, built around the RB trio of Marion Barber, Felix Jones and Tashard Choice.
SUMMER STRENGTH: The best part of the Cowboys A.D. (After Distractions, mostly from T.O.) is that this summer's offense will show off a shift to more of a ground game, built around the RB trio of Marion Barber, Felix Jones and Tashard Choice.
CAMP CONCERN: The problem with no T.O.: So much for the convenient scapegoat in Dallas. Which means all eyeballs will be on both head coach Wade Phillips and QB Tony Romo to see if the easygoing personalities can grab this underachieving team by the collective throats on the practice fields, on the sidelines and in the meeting rooms.
COOL STAT: Tony Romo is 5-10 in his career in December and January.

14 Packers 6-10-0 - 14/14 SUMMER STRENGTH: Even without Brett Favre, the Packer passing game powered the NFL's fifth-best scoring offense in '08. This summer Aaron Rodgers is the established starter with a 4,000-yard season, top target Greg Jennings is locked up long-term, veteran Donald Driver comes off his fifth straight 1,000-yard season and big-time backups Jordy Nelson and James Jones are ready and willing.

CAMP CONCERN: Any time a team undergoes a major philosophy shift, the transition is unpredictable. This summer the Packers hope to bear fruit from an offseason spent transforming an underperforming defense to a 3-4 scheme.
COOL STAT: Last season could have been very different in Green Bay, who went a shocking 0-7 in games decided by four points or less (worst in NFL).

15 Bills 7-9-0 - 15/15 SUMMER STRENGTH: Get yer popcorn ready, Buffalo — the T.O. show has arrived, and it usually only gets better in training camp, though Bills fans expects to see their new star running practice routes instead of busting out driveway pushups.
SUMMER STRENGTH: Get yer popcorn ready, Buffalo — the T.O. show has arrived, and it usually only gets better in training camp, though Bills fans expects to see their new star running practice routes instead of busting out driveway pushups. Alongside Lee Evans, T.O. and the Bills have one of the top WR duos in football.
CAMP CONCERN: Sure, the Bills seem set with plenty of fun weapons on offense. But what if the new-look offensive line (minus Pro Bowler Jason Peters, traded to Philly) can't block their shadows?
COOL STAT: Buffalo RB duo of Marshawn Lynch-Fred Jackson combined for 84 catches in '08, most among running back combos.

16 Saints 8-8-0 - 16/16 SUMMER STRENGTH: No shock here, as Saints fans will have a blast watching Sean Payton's No. 1 offense in practice all summer. Last year's Drew Brees-led aerial attack led the NFL with over 400 total yards per game, over 300 passing ypg and 29 points per game.
SUMMER STRENGTH: No shock here, as Saints fans will have a blast watching Sean Payton's No. 1 offense in practice all summer. Last year's Drew Brees-led aerial attack led the NFL with over 400 total yards per game, over 300 passing ypg and 29 points per game.
CAMP CONCERN: Defense, defense, defense ... it's what kept the Saints out of the playoffs last season. Credit the front office for a major overhaul, especially in the secondary, but the next team they stop will be their first.
COOL STAT: Since 2006, New Orleans is 1-19 in games they trailed entering the fourth quarter.

17 Redskins 8-8-0 - 17/17 SUMMER STRENGTH: Last year's fourth-ranked defense added the Defensive Player of the Year in Albert Haynesworth, which is a salivating proposition for 'Skins fans. Watching him take over the line of scrimmage at camp practices promises to be a real treat.
SUMMER STRENGTH: Last year's fourth-ranked defense added the Defensive Player of the Year in Albert Haynesworth, which is a salivating proposition for 'Skins fans. Watching him take over the line of scrimmage at camp practices promises to be a real treat.
CAMP CONCERN: Where to start: Can Jason Campbell keep his job at QB? Will Clinton Portis talk to his coach Jim Zorn? Will Zorn be canned during the preseason by owner Daniel Snyder? Can TE Chris Cooley keep his junk in his trunks for the entire preseason?
COOL STAT: After TE Chris Cooley scored 27 TDs in his first four NFL seasons, he scored just twice in 2008.

18 Texans 8-8-0 - 18/18 SUMMER STRENGTH: Health permitting, the Texans' offense should be fun to watch this training camp. QB Matt Schaub has plenty of choices on his menu, from handing or dumping the ball to RB Steve Slaton, firing to WR Andre Johnson and a solid set of WRs, or hitting TE Owen Daniels in the middle.

CAMP CONCERN: Is this defense really ready to compete, especially with the Colts in the AFC South? Coaches and fans alike are eager to see if free-agent pickup Antonio Smith really will be the bookend DE cure opposite "Super" Mario Williams.
COOL STAT: For the first time in team history, the Texans started the same five O-linemen for all 16 games last year.

19 Dolphins 11-5-0 - 19/19 SUMMER STRENGTH: Despite losing two starters from last year's solid secondary, the Dolphins deftly restocked in free agency (CB Eric Green from Cardinals, S Gibril Wilson from Raiders) and the draft (CBs Vontae Davis and Sean Smith).
SUMMER STRENGTH: Despite losing two starters from last year's solid secondary, the Dolphins deftly restocked in free agency (CB Eric Green from Cardinals, S Gibril Wilson from Raiders) and the draft (CBs Vontae Davis and Sean Smith). Against the Randy Moss-Wes Welker duo in New England plus T.O.-Lee Evans in Buffalo, Miami will need all hands on deck.
CAMP CONCERN: Chad Pennington could use someone to emerge at camp this summer at wide receiver, preferably former first-rounder Ted Ginn Jr.
COOL STAT: By improving from 1 win in 2007 to 11 wins in 2008, the Dolphins joined the 1999 Colts as the only teams in history to make 10-game improvements from one season to the next.

20 Bears 9-7-0 - 20/20 SUMMER STRENGTH: This couldn't be more obvious, where the position of quarterback is finally one of strength in Chicago with ex-Bronco Jay Cutler, a 2008 Pro Bowler who threw for 4,526 yards and 25 TDs.
SUMMER STRENGTH: This couldn't be more obvious, where the position of quarterback is finally one of strength in Chicago with ex-Bronco Jay Cutler, a 2008 Pro Bowler who threw for 4,526 yards and 25 TDs. His strong arm should have no trouble cutting through the Windy City.
CAMP CONCERN: Who exactly will Cutler throw to? The Bears insist Devin Hester is ready to be a true No. 1 WR and while they have plenty of promising kids who will battle for summer-time snaps, only one other receiver on the roster caught a pass with the Bears in 2008 (Rashied Davis).
COOL STAT: The Bears have produced just one Pro Bowl QB in the past 44 years.

21 Jets 9-7-0 - 21/21 SUMMER STRENGTH: Thanks to their new head coach, this team is boiling over in attitude and confidence heading into camp, which is a good thing coming off last December's heartbreaking fade.
SUMMER STRENGTH: Thanks to their new head coach, this team is boiling over in attitude and confidence heading into camp, which is a good thing coming off last December's heartbreaking fade. But Rex Ryan's brash nature is carrying over to his team, lending real hope they can contend without Brett Favre.
CAMP CONCERN: Earth to Vernon Gholston, come in Gholston. Last year's first-round pick is under big pressure to finally arrive in the Big Apple. And speaking of arrivals, Jets fans are crossing their fingers that their tag-team RB duo of Thomas Jones-Leon Washington will actually report to camp despite contract disputes.
COOL STAT: For the first time since 2001, the Jets could enter the season with the same starting O-line as the year before.

22 49ers 7-9-0 - 22/22 SUMMER STRENGTH: Believe it or not, the 49ers have assembled an intriguing group of receivers to compete for camp and preseason snaps, from veteran Isaac Bruce to returning youngsters Josh Morgan and Jason Hill, free agent Brandon Jones and top draft pick Michael Crabtree.
SUMMER STRENGTH: Believe it or not, the 49ers have assembled an intriguing group of receivers to compete for camp and preseason snaps, from veteran Isaac Bruce to returning youngsters Josh Morgan and Jason Hill, free agent Brandon Jones and top draft pick Michael Crabtree.
CAMP CONCERN: Who is throwing them the ball? It's very far from decided between the QB battle between Shaun Hill and former No. 1 overall pick Alex Smith, who comes off a heralded spring in minicamps and OTAs. But without a defined leader at quarterback, this team will be stuck in neutral unless one of them stands out this summer.
COOL STAT: The 49ers will open training camp with their seventh offensive coordinator in the last seven years.

23 Buccaneers 9-7-0 - 23/23 SUMMER STRENGTH: Tampa has a strong offensive line to run behind, so run they will ... often. This season Earnest Graham figures for once to avoid having to spot up at fullback out of emergency, unless the Bucs get wacky and put him alongside ex-Giants Derrick Ward in the same backfield at times behind the Bucs' new zone-blocking approach.
SUMMER STRENGTH: Tampa has a strong offensive line to run behind, so run they will ... often. This season Earnest Graham figures for once to avoid having to spot up at fullback out of emergency, unless the Bucs get wacky and put him alongside ex-Giants Derrick Ward in the same backfield at times behind the Bucs' new zone-blocking approach.
CAMP CONCERN: The organization is not avoiding the issue of whether or not the former Cover Two Bucs defense can convert to a completely different Jim Bates-led approach, focused on big beef in the front seven instead of speed.
COOL STAT: In last season's season-ending four-game losing streak, the Bucs allowed 30+ points three times after giving up 30+ points in three of their previous 32 games.

24 Broncos 8-8-0 - 24/24 SUMMER STRENGTH: Well, if owner Pat Bowlen can convince mercurial wideout Brandon Marshall to stay and not force a trade, the Broncos are well-stocked with offensive weapons and depth at every skill position (other than QB, for now).
SUMMER STRENGTH: Well, if owner Pat Bowlen can convince mercurial wideout Brandon Marshall to stay and not force a trade, the Broncos are well-stocked with offensive weapons and depth at every skill position (other than QB, for now). Despite dealing away former franchise QB Jay Cutler, the support skill guys (including top draft pick Knowshon Moreno) should keep things interesting.
CAMP CONCERN: Sure, Denver brought in some reputable names on defense, but can this 30-something starting secondary stick with the slick wideouts almost half their ages?
COOL STAT: The Broncos allowed 30 or more points nine times in 2008, going 3-6.

25 Jaguars 5-11-0 - 25/25 SUMMER STRENGTH: The RB torch is finally handed off to Maurice Jones-Drew on a full-time basis, and after a three-year job-share with Fred Taylor the new starter is poised for big things after signing his big dollar deal this offseason.
SUMMER STRENGTH: The RB torch is finally handed off to Maurice Jones-Drew on a full-time basis, and after a three-year job-share with Fred Taylor the new starter is poised for big things after signing his big dollar deal this offseason. He'll be helped by the return to health of fullback Greg Jones and a re-tooled (and hopefully healthy) offensive line.
CAMP CONCERN: Although there is definitely a case of "addition by subtraction with a few of the offseason departures, most Jag fans are wondering what to make of this new-look receiving core. Sure, it's cool to see Torry Holt on the team, but he's 33. Aside from Holt is fellow starter Mike Thomas (only 9 games played in two seasons), former Vikings draft bust Troy Williamson and a trio of rookies hoping to catch on, literally and figuratively.
COOL STAT: Torry Holt owns and NFL-high 817 receptions over the past nine years.

26 Chiefs 2-14-0 - 26/26 SUMMER STRENGTH: The fact that there is finally a defined direction at quarterback with Matt Cassel (3,693 yards, 21 TD passes with Patriots in '08) could help right K.C.'s ship sooner rather than later.
SUMMER STRENGTH: The fact that there is finally a defined direction at quarterback with Matt Cassel (3,693 yards, 21 TD passes with Patriots in '08) could help right K.C.'s ship sooner rather than later. New Chiefs GM Scott Pioli made an excellent trade to acquire the former Patriot, who now has a big-bucks contract in his chance out of Tom Brady's shadow.
CAMP CONCERN: Of course there are plenty with a 2-14 team from a year ago, but ultimately the team needs to see former star Larry Johnson both perform and behave this summer.
COOL STAT: After carrying the ball 752 times in 2005-06, Johnson has run just 351 times in the past two seasons.

27 Seahawks 4-12-0 - 27/27 SUMMER STRENGTH: Two big weak spots from 2008 have the potential to turn around quickly, health permitting. Last year's WR corps was destroyed with injuries, but on paper adding ex-Bengals free agent T.J.
SUMMER STRENGTH: Two big weak spots from 2008 have the potential to turn around quickly, health permitting. Last year's WR corps was destroyed with injuries, but on paper adding ex-Bengals free agent T.J. Houshmandzadeh to Nate Burleson and Deion Branch could be fun to watch in camp practices.
CAMP CONCERN: Last year's defense failed in every way, and while the linebackers appear strengthened in a big way with newcomer Aaron Curry, the secondary still has plenty of missed assignments and blown coverages to make up for ... starting this summer.
COOL STAT: TE John Carlson led the team in receptions and yards last season, joining Steve Largent (1976) as the only rookies to lead the Seahawks in both categories in a season.
Team: Home | Stats | Fantasy | Schedule | Apps
28 Bengals 4-11-1 - 28/28 SUMMER STRENGTH: Optimism is on the rise in Cincy thanks to a healthy Carson Palmer teamed with a trio of receivers as good as any group in the league. And with Chad Ochocinco chatty again, Bengals camp should not be boring (which is why HBO's Hard Knocks program will be filming this summer).

CAMP CONCERN: Will the offensive line keep Palmer in his feet and out of the hospital? With three new starters, the line will get plenty of well-deserved coaching.
COOL STAT: Only one Bengals player has registered double-digit sacks since 1991.

29 Raiders 5-11-0 - 29/29 SUMMER STRENGTH: This is the year of the running back in Oakland, where the Raiders are deeper than most. Darren McFadden seems poised for a breakout season, and should have plenty of help from slashy Justin Fargas and pounder Michael Bush — plus veteran fullback Lorenzo Neal will look to open running lanes galore.
SUMMER STRENGTH: This is the year of the running back in Oakland, where the Raiders are deeper than most. Darren McFadden seems poised for a breakout season, and should have plenty of help from slashy Justin Fargas and pounder Michael Bush — plus veteran fullback Lorenzo Neal will look to open running lanes galore.
CAMP CONCERN: This is it, JaMarcus Russell. If Jeff Garcia wins the starting QB job this summer, this franchise will have flushed three years down the drain.
COOL STAT: Over the Raiders' last seven games in 2008, QB JaMarcus Russell posted a 88.5 passer rating with seven TD passes and four interceptions.

30 Browns 4-12-0 - 30/30 SUMMER STRENGTH: The team's biggest strength may simply be that 2008 is behind them. New coach Eric Mangini and the front office have added depth to several positions this offseason, but the QB battle of Brady Quinn vs.
SUMMER STRENGTH: The team's biggest strength may simply be that 2008 is behind them. New coach Eric Mangini and the front office have added depth to several positions this offseason, but the QB battle of Brady Quinn vs. Derek Anderson will dominate most camptown conversations.
CAMP CONCERN: Take your pick among the QB controversy, an aging starting RB, a star WR with a case of the dropsies, no real tight end, an uncertain O-line and a shabby defense. Other than that, things should be great!
COOL STAT: The Browns scored just 31 points during their season-ending six-game losing streak in '08 (average of 5.2 ppg, if you're counting).

31 Rams 2-14-0 - 31/31 SUMMER STRENGTH: A healthy Steven Jackson at running back at least gives the Rams hope that they can at least compete in every game. CAMP CONCERN: First-year head coach Steve Spagnuolo has plenty on his plate, from an aging QB (Marc Bulger) to lacking WR corps, iffy offensive line and rebuilding defense.
SUMMER STRENGTH: A healthy Steven Jackson at running back at least gives the Rams hope that they can at least compete in every game.
CAMP CONCERN: First-year head coach Steve Spagnuolo has plenty on his plate, from an aging QB (Marc Bulger) to lacking WR corps, iffy offensive line and rebuilding defense.
COOL STAT: The Rams were outscored a remarkable 465-232 in 2008.

32 Lions 0-16-0 - 32/32 SUMMER STRENGTH: Hope springs eternal thanks to a strong draft class headed by No. 1 overall pick and possible opening-day starting QB Matt Stafford, stud tight end Brandon Petitgrew and exciting safety Louis Delmas, plucked from the second round.
SUMMER STRENGTH: Hope springs eternal thanks to a strong draft class headed by No. 1 overall pick and possible opening-day starting QB Matt Stafford, stud tight end Brandon Petitgrew and exciting safety Louis Delmas, plucked from the second round.
CAMP CONCERN: The big question during camp will be whether or not to start Stafford on the bench or not, with veteran Daunte Culpepper battling for the job.
COOL STAT: The Lions were 6-2 at the midway point of 2007. They have lost 23 of 24 games since.

COOL STAT: The Broncos allowed 30 or more points nine times in 2008, going 3-6.

this might as well be the synopsis of last year's team. wow.

it was no all jays fault and I do not know of anyone here save one or two that would say that..

jay was a good QB has potential through the roof.. but he did not help his cause in some games..

The first game against SAN was a gift to win after "the fumble"..

OUR D sucked but it did not have to if mike would have dedicated some of those top draft choices to DL players.. if he would have kept a decent DC in the batch he went thru.. Robinson, Rhodes or Bates.. gave them something to work with instead of retreads and I suspect he would still be here today..

Why, or how in the world is bucky ahead every other Rb on the depth chart.

Seriously,.....Maybe its just me and my scouting ability is pathetic. But bucky should be third. Not hating the guy, he is pretty good, and a good backup for us, but starter material. NO way.

IT IS ALL PRESEASON STUFF AND Bucky's AFTERALL FROM THE EAST COAST.. Sorry about the yelling it was stuck on cap.. to lazy to change it back..

I also noted that Hill was not listed as a TE either.. I would not place alot of credence to it..
