Official BroncosForums Annual Fantasy Football League 2009

Welcome to the 2009 edition! This is the forum's official fantasy league, and is open to all members-- but this year I'm setting a minimum of 500 posts as a baseline requirement for entry. I will consider exceptions if you've been here for a while and/or are active on a regular basis, but I'm really looking to restrict membership to BF regulars, as that is, after all, the point of the official Forums League (team O-line Pancakes will be grandfathered in from last year, otherwise no exceptions for non-members). As we did last year, we'll break the league into smaller conferences that actually function as independent leagues (each conference will have it's own draft, pool of players, etc), and the overall league champion will be the conference winner that scores the most points in the championship game in week sixteen. Everyone who "registers" in this thread is welcome to play as long as we have even numbers to make the conferences, but it's going to be on a first-come first serve basis whether you played last year or not, so if you want to play you should let me know now.

I'm going to make Aug. 14th the tentative registration deadline, so if you want in now's the time to sign up! Once we get past, say, twenty entrants I will keep a running tally and update how many guaranteed spots are left-- we can accomodate as many as want to play, as long as we have even numbers that can easily be broken into multiple conferences (20, 24 30 etc). Reidman has graciously agreed to act as Commish of the second conference again this year.

Once we've got a final list, i'll draw names from a hat to determine who'll be in which conference, and then we'll send out invites and get everything set up. Since each conference will have its own draft, I won't be able to give you draft dates until we know who's in which group. Each conference will follow the exact same rules, which will be as follows (same rules as last year, for those who participated):


This is a standard head-to-head style league-- when I know the size of each conference, I'll let you know how many teams will make the playoffs. Week 16 will be the championship. We'll do a live, online draft-- 18 rounds, snaking each round. We'll be using fleaflicker again this year.

I could if you really wanted me to, turbo post from now until August 1st to reach 500 posts but I think it would be easier on my fingers and your eyes if you make an exception for a cousin from across the pond. Login issues. I'm going to just create a new one today. For some reason the password I used associated with the account doesn't work. And when I try to reset it, they say my e-mail isn't in their database when I have plenty of e-mails from them. They got something fubar.

yep, that's correct. . . i'm going to start from scratch and form new conferences as soon as we have a final number and i know who all's playing. . . i'm hoping that some more people sign up over the next few weeks. . . .

I wanted Manchester Red Devils in homage to United, Red Devils being our nickname. That was too long so I tried Manchester Devils which was also too long so I chose Mancunia Devils. I'm drafting sixth. Not a favourite spot in terms of deciding what to pick up in first round, but has the advantage of giving plenty of think time between picks, which is much appreciated when you're drafting at 2a.m!
