#10 John Lynch http://www.denverbroncos.com/page.php?id=349&videoID=3335&type=broncosTV&year=&month=

#9 Steve Atwater http://www.denverbroncos.com/page.php?id=349&videoID=3336&type=broncosTV&year=&month=

I'm disappointed they omitted Dennis Smith, though. I believe he was the
hardest-hitting Bronco I've ever seen.

Still, this is pretty cool . . .

Man, talk about leaving it all on the field. Atwater's performance in the SB against GB was epic.

"He's gonna land on his ass this time"

(Atwater's statement before he leveled Okoye)

Truer words were never spoken.

I couldn't agree more top. Smith's problem was that he played the same position and the same time as Lott so he didn't get the publicity.

Oh, but to have two safeties like that again . . .

They'd fine #27 and #49 right outta the league in today's game, John Lynch got a dose of what would happen to players like that towards the end of his career.

I prefer yesterday's NFL to this Two-Hands-Below-The-Waist and Spread Offense NFL of today.......

How do you think Lynch's sister reacted when she saw the hit he put on her husband.  :scared:  :fear: :jaw: :violin:

I would like to see the entire list if anyone can find it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lynch was the most "modern-era" player on that list...says alot about how the NFL has turned soft in favor of offense.

Have to agree. Meck played with both Atwater and Smith and he said that Smith was the harder hitter. That Dennis even knocked him out once.

I was always an Atwater fan. Is he the best safety ever? I would say no. But I couldn't name ten safetys who were better then he was.

He's a HOFer.

Fair warning for language in the music attached to the video. I had the kids beside me when it started and had to hit mute pretty quick, but not before the first f-bomb hit.

Anyway, Smith and Atwater, cripes I would hated knowing I was going against those tow. Atwater was always good, but his SB play was out of this world. That hit where 4 guys went down at the end...seriously, how many plays have you ever seen that wreaked so much damage on so many people. He was playing like a guy who didn't care if he got carted off the field, his play was all about the win, body be damned. Seems like a real good character guy too.

Great video. I loved watching Atwater play. He was one of my 3 or 4 favorite Broncos ever.

Atwater was always my favorite...even went as far as getting an official J-E-T-S Jets jersery when we FOR SOME STUPID REASON traded him.

Favorite part of the Okoye hit was just before when he helped him up from a previous tackle. A fellow Bronco asked him, "Why'd you help him up?" Atwater replied, "It's a mind game baby!!!!!" Well we all know what happened after that.......BOOOOOOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE!!!!!!!

PEACE!!!
