These could be games you beat, milestones in MMORPG's, or actual "Achievements" in Xbox 360 or awards on PS3. Heres some of mine:

1. Beating Ninja Gaiden II on Path of the Master Ninja. I can blow through this game in 3 hours normally. This took me about a month and a half to do. Ironically the last boss was the easiest on this setting. The gamer pic I got for beating this will never leave my profile pic.

2. Hitting Level 70 in Final Fantasy XI online. The hardest level grinding MMORPG ever. I leveled my Elf Paladin and promptly quit the game (and MMORPG's) forever. They kill real friendships!

3. (Almost) Winning a Marvel vs Capcom 2 tournament in Vegas. I used to be hardcore into arcade fighting games. I made it past the regional tournament here in 2003 and got an invite to play at EVO in Vegas. I had to drive myself and pay for a hotel, but it was cheap at the time! I made it pretty far until I barely lost a semi-final match. My team was always Ryu, Cable, and Magneto. Can't wait til this hits XBLA.

4. Beating Final Fantasy II (SNES). This was my gateway drug to the Final Fantasy world. I played the one on NES but never finished it (I liked Dragon Quest better), but this game was amazing. From the mist dragon to getting the Excalibur sword in the underworld, one of the best true RPG's ever. I tracked down the Japanese sequels after this for years until they were re-released on Playstation.

5. Beating Mortal Kombat before anyone in my town! I grew up north of Denver in a boring town called Commerce City. Our closest "arcade" was in a little 8 lane bowling alley in a part of town known as Derby that had one or two arcade games. Somehow, the owner got Mortal Kombat around the time it was released everywhere and about 20 of us kids lined up the morning he got it. While 3 people bowled, we all took turns. After the crowd died down several hours later, we all took a shot at beating the game. I learned sub zeros freeze move and just kept using it to blast my way to Goro. It took a few tries to beat him, then Shank Tsung was easy. I was like the hero of arcade kids for a month!

Thats it for now, I'll think of more later I'm sure.

I had tony hawk's pro skater on gameboy, sucked at it. I was pretty good on the playstation version. Which reminds me, i did finally get that one token in the mall that was extremely hard to get too. 1) Beating Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and getting that secret level, Skatopia? Whatever it was called, it was awesome. I got everything in that game. All the tapes, SKATE letters, stupid challenges. Urrything.

2) Catching 140ish Pokemon on Pokemon Blue version. I had to trade with my friends with Red to get some of them, but there was always just one that I couldn't get. Don't remember which, though.

1. Beating the original Ninja Gaiden on the NES.

2. Finishing Super Mario Brothers 2 with 70 extra guys. If you remember, you had to collect coins and play the slot machine at the end of the level. I got really good at timing that damn thing.

3. Beating Super Mario Brothers 3 without warping.

4. Mastering every character in Tekken 3.

5. Getting 6 backstabs as a Spy before getting killed in a Match of TF2.

6. Beating Mortal Kombat for the first time with Scorpion. Everyone and their brother could do it with Sub Zero. I said eff that.

Damn I play too many video games.

I will add that I refused to use the Game Genie back in the day. I had a friend that used it to beat the original FF with it, and he only used it to corrupt the game economy.

I would also like to know if anyone beat The Legend of Zelda 2 for the NES. I remember that I would get to the 9th dungeon or something and the game would just break on me every time.

I'd use them only after beating the game just for the neat glitches and such. The best Game Genie code was for Street Fighter II on SNES that allowed you to pick the same character (which you could not do on the first version).

I also used the programmers code for each of the Super Star Wars games just because it was awesome.

Beating Super Mario World without dying. (Have only done it once. I have made it several times to the final Castle (not Bowser's) and died there, but have only done it once without dying...I try it every now and then. I made it to Level 6 a few months ago...yes...I still try to do it every now and then)

Beating the original Mario Brothers without dying. (BTW, no warping in either of the last two statements)

I cannot beat Super Mario 3 without dying. Close, but no cigar. I had this ongoing bet with my roommate in college my sophomore year, if I could beat Super Mario (the original) without warping, before he beat it with warping, he'd buy beer for the night. I won a LOT of beer.

Beating Tony Hawk ProSkater 4 in one day (not the first day, just saying in one day, one time)

I don't see it that way. I love video games since the original Atari. To me, gaming since the days of the original Playstation made games more like a movie, except you were in the movie. Games like Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil and FFVII back then helped shape it for future masterpieces like Halo and God of War.

I LOVE the Halo series and think it revolutionized console FPSs online and off in a way not seen since Goldeneye and Doom, and even eclpsing their contributions in scope, scale, control, and playability.

I anxiously await Halo ODST and Reach.

Bungie also hinted at a solo game with the Arbiter as the main protagonist without the Chief.

Judging by the Legendary ending in Halo 3, there will be more Chiefey in the future.

I'm all for all of it.

Mike Tyson's Punch Out! was damn near impossible. My sister beat that before I did, I will never forgive her. The hardest game I ever beat was Batman on the NES (based on the 1989 movie). It was hard due to poor design, but I toughed it out and now no one cares!

And MO is right, Mario 3 is hard to beat without dying, mostly for me because of the airship levels. I always get nailed by at least one canon. Anyone here do original Mario speed runs? I think the record is like 5:19 minutes:

_8LbrAYVrEw

Nothing huge like beating a game without dying and such for me. But the one that stands out most is beating the first Red Faction on PS2, really the first game I ever got all the way through. Once won a 2 vs. 1 in C&C: Generals. Both players were talking a lot of trash but I stomped them both because I was a damn guru at that game.

Never lost a game of NFL Blitz on the N64 to my buddy. One time he was winning but, with no time left, I managed to pull what is IMPOSSIBLE to do in that game: Return a kickoff.

Same friend... Once while he slept I loaded up his GTA-III save file and put car bombs in all of his vehicles. When he entered one of his cars it would give a "beep" and explode to his total bewilderment. That prank still cracks me up.

Same friend again; when we were playing some N64 baseball game I had Larry Walker up to bat and made the statement that it was going over the fence. I nailed a homerun on my first swing.

On the hardest difficulty settings available: beat all of the Hitman 2, Contracts, and Blood Money levels on Silent Assassin; beat all of Chaos Theory's levels with 100% stealth.

Could play Tetris on my phone endlessly. I got to 500,000 points before quitting while playing upside down/intentionally letting the blocks build up before knocking them back down.

Unlocked everything on Red Dead Revolver. I'm excited for the sequel.

I didn't have the rank due to simply not playing as much, but I beat all of the top ESPN NFL 2k5 players while I was playing it online. Most of these matches were against illegitimate playstyles as well. I found most of the guys have some kind of money play either on defense or offense and it simply was a matter of finding the counter. Once you did they were, for the most part, really bad players.

Beat Goro without being touched thanks to an invincible rotation of jump -> kick.

NFL Blitz was so much fun. I started pounding people once I found out about that little "cheat" thing you could do on D when playing someone else. Whenever they throw it, you just switch players to the guy closest to the ball right before their receiver gets it, and then tackle the receiver. Cake.

The computer would still randomly beat me, though. It was weird; like, aggravatingly, they'd beat me on a Hail Mary on the last play of the game. I almost cried. Still incredibly fun, though.

Another one I just thought of is getting some insane score on the Batman Forever Pinball machine while waiting to see Star Wars: Special Edition (big surprise, I know). At one point, I had the same ball going for about 20 minutes, I was well over 2 million points when I had to go and just let some kid take over that was watching me. I was a pinball wizard that day. I went back the next day (it was an arcade we always went to anyway) and lost within five minutes. Never been that good at a pinball game ever again, except video game versions.

Back in '84 or 85, I was the first one in our arcade to beat Space Ace. God only knows how many quarters it took me to learn all of the timed sequences there are but I can tell that getting there ate up a ton of my paper route money. It was funny because once I got into the last third of the game, a crowd of people started to gather around the game who thought they might get a glimpse at what the ending of the game actually looked like. By the time I made the final move to defeat Borf with the infanto ray there were 20 - 25 people gathered around the freaking machine. They actually cheered when Ace and the princess rode off into the sunset and the credits rolled...;-)
Great game...

Practice. My big problem is hitting the bass drum at the right spots. I will get it with time. The expert part is more difficult since there are twice the high-hat beats, and they are all on the red pad as opposed to the yellow. I will need to buy new(better) drum heads before I can do that.

A little background, my disease has made it so I can't move my arms or legs and my neck is really weakened as well. Add to that my head is so big it has its own gravitational field. Now to the achievements:

Beat The Phantom hourglass on Nintendo DS with a stick in my mouth... my tongue was so super sore from all the fine movement. Yes, ladies I am single!:coffee:

My mom and dad glued a super ball to the directional pad of the same Nintendo DS and rested my hand on top of it so with only minute movements I could get three of the directions. With this setup and the stick in my mouth for driving around I got 120 stars on Mario 64 for the DS. Bow before me mortals!!

My computer watches my head movements and I have left click under my left hand and right click under my right hand... with this setup and my nephew as my partner, level 80 mage World of Warcraft: character, Spoingzapa on Dragonblight. Nephew, Anvsblock super hunter and PVP guru.

Computer games I have beaten: Star craft, warcraft 2 & three with all expansions. Command and conquer red alert and lots of other RTS.

Some of the highest scores in the world at polar golfer leaderboard (http://http://wildboards.wildtangent.com/communities/wildgames/highscores.aspx?g=polargolfer&l=PGMO) my golfing name is GimpyG so you can look it up for each character.

Wow im stoked just hit the 50/50 horde achievement in multiplayer this morning with my buddy, we been going strong for the last few days but that stuff got insane around 30 for only 2 of us.....then we went on a rage yesterday and pulled it off, very self gratifying achievement and very hard to do even on normal, havent passed 30 yet on insane...still trying...lol

We got that pretty easy after we found a nice spot with a nearby ammo resupply and a small entrance. You just take a boom shield and put it facing backwards in the entrance and the enemies can't kick it over. After that, just a few small enemies can get by but the big guys get stuck and its fish in a barrel time. Still fun though!

I don't know why, but I thought Gears of War 2 was a lot easier to beat on the hardest setting than Gears 1. Great games.

My greatest achievement?

Not falling off the chair as I twisted the joystick on direction or another . . . :look:

what drum set do you have?
i have the ION drum set... this thing kicks ass!

I've been eying that one. I still have the stock RB2 set for wii. I had tried the cymbal attachment but it caused too much interference and made the game unplayable. I do want this mod kit however:

I did it on Avalanche. Set up the shields on the two stairways, kind of like what Mastershake was saying. You might need more than one partner though. I had two other buddies helping me.

My friend and I have the highest score on a Time Crisis 3 machine in at least a 45 mile radius. I check everywhere I go, and our score at the local arcade is higher than any movie theater or boardwalk that i've seen in the state of New Jersey. I scored significantly higher than him when we played through too, so I'm curious to see how I would stack up on single player. Now I won't lie and say that I go and travel to places just to check the scores, but I make sure that every place I see a TC3 machine, I wait to see the top score for 2 player.

Pavillion is the best. I can do it solo or with a friend in this setup. Run like hell to the Killzone and set up the shield at the entrance with the front facing TOWARD you. Keep the shield towards the front of the entrance and make sure you can walk in and out of either side. Use the left or right wall of the entrance for cover. In between each wave there is an ammo respawn just outside the entrance and if you get some sticky grenades you can booby trap the outer walls. ALSO DON'T FORGET TO RESET THE BOOM SHIELD EACH WAVE OR IT DISAPPEARS. The only real enemies you have to worry about are tickers and those monkey ******* things. Every once in a while you can get your hands on a grinder gun or a boomshot, but don't get too brave. I can't remember how many times just a few enemies were left and I got cocky, left the nest, and got sawed or blown up. It may suck, but you have to wait for the enemies to come to you. Heres the map:

In Warhawk, I have a kill/death ratio of 1.60 in 1500+ games played since aug 2007.

Pretty good considering I play in the expert difficulty servers in Warhawk..

BTW Warhawk is probably the best multi player game to ever be created. Everyone with a PS3 should be playing this.

On a side note, Marble madness had me faking sick days from school to stay home and beat certain levels. That shit was hard...The sound from falling off the edge still haunts me.

I'm passionate but just realistic, and while I do prefer 360 to PS3 that doesn't make me a fanboy. That's like me saying "(insert any 360 game here) is the best multiplayer game ever made" and it would be a complete lie. The best online multiplayer games aren't even on consoles they're PC games.

IMO the best online multis are CoD which are made for both.

CoD is a FPS multiplayer isnt it? Im not too big on FPS online...Have you even played Warhawk? I have a 360 elite with 20+ popular titles, and base my opinion on my personal experience..Everyone has their own taste in video games. IE: I hate computer games because of the controllers and having to spend hundreds on video cards, processors, memory, etc...and lack of great exclusives. Consoles have this all with out having to buy specific components to get what I want. Also, last time I checked...Computer games dont come in 1080p.

bottom line, my point is...my opinions are driven by preference, not by fanboy homerism most 15 year olds who mow moms lawn for videogame console money have.

BTW my comments on Warhawk are pure opinion...how is that a "complete lie"?
And this was all posted from my PS3 browser, can't do this on my elite.

Bro, I respect your opinion and never said what you posted was a lie. Saying "Warhawk is probably the best multi player game to ever be created" doesn't come across as an opinion, perhaps I shouldn't have taken it literally.

Whatever, because we both prefer consoles to PC games. I concede that PC games have some awesome experiences you cannot replicate on consoles, but you can't kick your friend's ass in Fight Night on a big HD TV on a PC either.

You are entitled to your opinion accept for the bolded part.

1080p just means that you have a 1920x1080 resolution on your screen. This makes it easy for consoles to produce since consoles really don't have to do anything but provide the 3 basic resolutions: 1080p, 780p, and the crt 800x600

Computer games are capable of resolutions of 1920x1440 and higher. It really depends on the monitor you own and your video card. Now thanks to Moores Law, you don't need to upgrade video cards and processors that much these days to stay cutting edge. Yes the initial set up is costly, but when you really look at it, if you want to do some hard core gaming, your bottom end pc will probably run you between $600 and $700 (not including monitors, and you can do multiple monitors to get the resolution you want. So total probably between $1300-$1600 for the complete system monitors and all (if you are doing multiple monitors.

So lets compare:

Xbox Elite or PS3 is about $400 these days. Add on your 1080p plasma tv and you are tacking on $1000-$2000. That is really comperable to your set up for a console game. Both the XBox360 controler and the PS3 dual shock will work on your pc (wired with an adaptor for ps3), so you can have a controller if you want it. The exclusive games that you aren't getting on the PC isn't really all that much. I mean, Gears of War, Halo, and that Sock Puppet platformer on the ps3? Really? And the fact that video cards do have HDMI compatablility, you can hook up your $600-$700 rig to your plasma screen and have the same quality picture.

Consoles are easier, I get that. That's cool. That is why Consoles are doing so well. But don't tell me that they are superior to PCs. Both the PS3 and XBox 360 are basically PCs that you cannot upgrade the hardware in, and give you a watered down multiplyer experience when it comes down to FPS multiplayer. Admit it, TF2 or CoD would be really fun to play in a 32 vs 32 player campaign.

Again, I'm not saying that PCs are superior, its all about preference. Hell, I want an XBox for FF XII or whatever the new one is as well as some of the other interesting games that are coming out for it, but there is no XBox mod for Left 4 Dead that lets you take out Telle Tubbies.

The XBox nor the PS3 is technically superior to the PC. Not in TIPS (Trillions of instructions per second), not in PPS (Polygons per Second), not in gaming.

Good post Thnik. It really does boil down to personal preference. I stopped being what I'd call a "hardcore" gamer about 3 years ago. I used to play Half Life Mods on my PC and make Everquest bots to loot gold. Nowadays, I just want a quick, fun experience so I'll often opt for my console over my PC. I don't dig too many multiplayer games, and the PC guys just take it way too seriously. One is not better than the other, it just comes down to your mood and play style.

Back on topic, I finally got complete map coverage (112% I believe) on Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on XBLA. I did it years ago on PS1, but I wanted to do it again without a guide. Took a lot of axe throws and a lot of backtracking, but I did it!

I never said consoles are more superior to PC games...I just said I don't prefer them. As for the second bolded section. No I do not prefer 32 on 32, That would be absolute chaos. Warhawk is already 16 vs 16 with huge levels, and that is already too chaotic. But to everyone their own.

Thanks for the info though. I love to learn new things and further educate myself on topics I am highly interested in.

What does Capt. PC Gamer Nikka :sarcasm: call the best multi player game? Curious.

My favorite Multi Player game was actually the tag mode for THPS 3 on the PC. I spent lots of time playing that back in the beginning of this Decade. I also love Tekken as a multi player game. But I don't think there is a de-facto best multi player game.

My current favorite is still TF2 for the PC. And Shazam, I would love to see your review for the multi-player co-op for Serious Sam HD. This is a game that me and my friends have been playing for years. It just got a graphics upgrade, and is available on XBLA.

Valve is really kicking ass in the multiplayer facets these days... TF2 and Left4Dead are some of the best multi-games I've ever played.

I think as far as PC/Consoles go, PCs take the cake. Most of the genres PC simply does better; the only one it loses out on clear-cut is sports (one of the reasons I own a console). Everything else is done pretty much bigger and better by PCs or it's a split; if you want to play RTS's there is really only one way to go.
