Damn Steelers fans are already driving up prices for home opener to $209 for nose bleed seats. Think I'll buy tickets for Texans game instead

The fact that it's a night game and Peyton Manning's first as a Bronco I'm sure has nothing to do with it either...

I know I would love to go to the opening night of Manning... opening night of Denver's 2012 season.... night game against a very good Steelers team.

Yeah I'm sure that has something to do with it too lol, and Ill probably crack and buy a couple nosebleed seats just to be there to see it. However I also know everytime the Steelers come to town their fans drive up the prices of tickets.

I remember hearing somewhere that if you check NFL ticket exchange the week of the game you can sometimes find some good deals. Someone one else may know better than I though.

Not sure if these are cheaper, but here are two links which you can access from the Broncos' website - on main page, under Broncos' ticket center.

Tickets are not on sale until mid July. I wouldn't go to stubhub because sellers are greedy and phony.

What do you mean phony? Stub-hub verifies tickets before they are put on sale.

You guys really trust them Craigslist ticket dealers? I bought there from private sellers with no problem but I am concerned about them dealers. They always show hundreds of available tickets to sold out events.

I've bought concert and sporting event tickets on eBay with no issues but never Craigslist. There are a lot of shifty people on Craigslist

well, a reason the event is sold out is because groups buy hundreds of tickets to sell

I afraid that with the Steelers being the opposition is going to make finding cheap tickets nearly impossible. Better to know someone who is an unemployed season ticket holder that needs the money.

Sellers are crazy about service fees. Some fans got stuck sitting in the $150- dollar seats with a crappy view.

Well that is true, however I am not sure if I want to trust someone on Craigslist for the 'print yourself the ticket' etc. after I pay with paypal. Call me old fashion, but I love to have a hard ticket in hand at the cash exchange with a real person. lol

I have bought tix on ebay from someone who has been selling tickets for some years and has a good reputation.

That's probably why you verify the location of the seats prior to making the transaction

People who study things like this say that the best time to get the most affordable tickets are a week or less before the game starts....(the worst time to get a good price being right about now)

I live 20 Min. from the stadium. On Stubhub I have seen tickets there for 30 bucks 1 hour before the game last year. I bought the Wild card game ticket on craigslist from some Steelers fan who came from New Mexico and had an extra ticket - 30 Min. before kick off.

I miss the old days where folks with tickets and folks without milled around outside the arena holding up fingers to say how many seats they had available and you bartered in cold cash right then and there. Of course, the team and the league made nothing on this which is why things changed. But I remember showing up for games and, if I had a ticket to sell, I might hang around with a digit in the air and if I needed a ticket, I'd go up to somebody doing the same. Met some nice fans to sit with that way too.

The Broncos or the NFL had nothing to do with shutting down scalping. It is illegal in the city of Denver, and I think it was even back then.

Police in Denver said it’s illegal to sell tickets for even a penny more than face value within the city limits. It’s also illegal to sell tickets for face value on Broncos property, that includes the grounds of Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Tickets purchased online do not apply.

http://denver.cbslocal.com/2012/01/06/police-warn-ticket-broncos-playoff/

The City of Denver, which currently prohibits the resale of event tickets, is considering changing its anti-scalping law to allow for an unfettered market which would, according to the legislator pushing for the change, even the playing field between fans and ticket brokers.

While the State of Colorado allows for ticket resale, Denver does not based on Chapter 7, Article XII, 7-291-294 of the city's ordinances. But, as many municipalities and jurisdictions have found out, trying to enforce anti-scalping laws in the Internet Age is, at best, extremely difficult.

You don't think the Broncos and the NFL have people who lobby to get legislation passed in member cities?
