Sixth-round pick Danny Trevathan was the first Broncos rookie to find work with the starters in the mandatory minicamp that started Tuesday.

Trevathan, a linebacker from the University of Kentucky, worked with the first-team defense's nickel package throughout the two-hour practice and made an impressive play when he broke up a downfield pass intended for tight end Jacob Tamme.

The Broncos are experimenting at linebacker, in part to prepare for D.J. Williams' six-game suspension for violating the league's banned substance policy. Williams is suing the league.

Good to know they're getting the tackle machine sized up. Woodyard would definitely start over him though

I'm not so down on him and neither are his coaches or teammates apparently. I've come to deal with the fact that he's a douche. He's also the best all around lber this team has at this point. And his trade value is hovering around zero right now.

This guy might actually work his way up the depth chart though. Lost of players get 1st team reps in OTA and training camp. That is not unheard of.
