Every day I drive by the stadium and noticed that a couple of weeks ago that they removed both Sports Authority signs facing the freeway. I know that there was talk about a new sign but residents wanted to sue because of light pollution. Sorry if a thread already exists about the signs, but I could not find one.

Anyone heard anything about that?

the new sign should say,

MILE HIGH FIELD ,
at sports authority stadium.

I found the article but have not heard anything since.
Here are some excerpts;

Well, a big part of Denver's skyline and image is about to get a corporate branding.

Yes, the graceful metallic band that loops and swoops around much of Broncos stadium and that shimmers with reflections of the shifting light will be bedecked with three massive red-letter signs reading SPORTS AUTHORITY FIELD and facing north, west and east.

At least that's the plan the city will be asked to approve later this month.

the growing list of neighborhood groups, nearby and not so near, that have voted to oppose the signs don't seem focused on glare in their backyards. Even Jefferson Park United Neighbors, located directly north, avoid NIMBY whining.

"We're concerned that this will compromise the architectural integrity of the stadium," Jefferson Park's Michael Guiettz told me.

Sports Authority is a fine local company that deserves a lot of mileage from its investment in naming rights. But Denver's skyline is not a billboard — and let's keep it that way.

That's better than the God awful Chiefs red signs they had up last season in the interim.

I don't pretend that this whine and cheese stadium even compares to Mile High so that name thing isn't as big in my book....but when the sign on the wall is this huge Chiefs red...I draw the line. :laugh:

I hear you. It really detracted from the looks. I feel that the sign belongs off of that ring around the stadium. Put it down a lot lower.

First time since the new stadium was built that it felt like Mile High, 1st game last season vs. the Raiders. Lordy...that place was rocking, even in the rain!! :D

My dad, my boys and I did a bike ride that started in Arvada and traveled down bike paths, we weren't sure where the bike paths would come out at Downtown....we ended up at Mile High!! Somehow in life, everything always leads to the Broncos. :D

Yep! It was an awesome atmosphere (even though a ton of people were disappointed that Orton was starting). Was really great during the Steelers playoff game too.
