Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy said his offense took Wednesday's subpar practice as a "challenge" and responded well when they returned to the field today.

"We're installing a system with everybody, and we're not slowing down. We just keep piling on the players," McCoy said. "There are going to be days where the offense, we're going to make some mistakes the defense is going to get the best of us. There are other days where it will work the other way. The offense did a good job today of coming out and responding to the challenge."

Thursday's organized team activity was closed to the media. The team won't hold another open practice until early next week.

The Broncos have Peyton Manning on a pitch count.

Offensive coordinator Mike McCoy said Thursday that Manning and head athletic trainer Steve Antonopulos have come up with a plan for how many passes Manning will throw in each organized team activity session as Manning continues to rehabilitate from the neck injury that kept him off the field for all of 2011.

i LIKE THAT THEy are bringing him in slowly with x number of throws per day. Let those nerves get back into the flow before he starts gunning balls all over the place.
