Why Was Billups Suspended?

This is very random, but I need something to get me out of my Nuggets loss sadness. With that said, why was Chauncey Billups suspended for a game during the infamous Pacers-Pistons brawl?

Couple of things...

1) Stephen Jackson was the baddest mofo in the Pacer -Pistion fight

2) That clip didn't have Jermaine O'neal's punch on the fan on the court, that was
the best punch lol

3) That is why I'll never respect Carmelo Anthony. I have no problem with him
hitting someone in the middle of that fight... but he slapped him, like a bitch would,
and then he ran... He then continued to talk shit once he ran away? He is a gutless
little bitch forver now.

I don't like that he did it. I don't know why he ran. I like that he has his head on straight now. He served his suspension and I'm fine with it. He better not do it again.

I have been in some pretty dirty fights growing up out here..And even took on 6 guys with only 2 of my buddies, and still didn't run away when we knew we are out maned by 3...When you slap and run, that's bitch. No doubt about it.

If you are on the streets, and all you are fighting for is pride, yeah that is totally a bitch move. Either go full bore, or don't go at all.

When you are a professional and the difference between an open handed slap and getting out and brawling like you are just fighting for pride is a 10,000 dollar fine and 10 game suspension or facing being suspended for the rest of the season (I'm not exactly sure how much Melo got fined, I'm just pulling numbers out of my ass but you get the point), then its less of a bitch move.

I don't know what Melo was thinking at that point when he did what he did. I'm just theorizing that he may have used his head for once in that situation and avoided getting cast into the Ron Artest category of players.

And please don't imply that thug is a racial or inner city term. I have met plenty of white suburbanites fronting that they are thugs (and some that aren't fronting).
