Chris Simms worked extensively today with the No. 1 offense at the Broncos' passing camp. But don't read too much into it. Simms and Kyle Orton figure to get long looks into the preseason before any decision is made about the starter.

"Same thing," said Broncos coach Josh McDaniels, when asked if there were any new developments at the position. "Both of them will take reps with the 1's, and we're going to keep doing that until it becomes clear and apparent, and it's not yet. They're both doing some good things, and they're both making some mistakes."

So are they learning at a good pace, Coach J-Mac?

"They don't have a choice."

Good. They shouldn't get a choice. If they can't keep up then neither of them deserve to be here...

I like the fact that they are battling it out for the starting job. I just hope once a starter is named, McD doesn't throw him under the bus at the first mistake. If either Orton or Simms is going to really "get it" or succeed, we can't have the BS that Chicago did over the pat few years bouncing back and forth.

Although if the starter stinks it up because of stupid mistakes consistently...bench them. :D

May the best man win. This is the first time in a very long time where we actually have a QB battle for the starting position. Hopefully both are capable starters.......

The new article out....Simms moving ahead of Orton at passing camp and getting more reps. Interesting!!!!
