Ya...so it's a good 5 months until this game comes out, but still. Mass Effect was one of my favorite games of all time. The sequel looks to be amazing.

A darker story....just "darker" all around in general. More weapons. Better character models. "Intensity." "More action." *drool*

I love that the story depends on what you did in the 1st game. If you killed somebody off, they will not be in your sequel. Awesome. This game is going to friggin own.

The only complaint I had about the original ME was the menu system. Too much time spent when scrolling through armor and weapons for the best upgrade. Easily one of the best games I played in awhile, the whole complete package. I hope they match the first or exceed it.

I just picked up the Game of the Year Edition for $20, and it comes with a lot of extra content, videos and all the new maps and bonuses. I popped it in and even without my old saves which I deleted a long time ago, it still recovered 'my' Commander Sheppard, all my gear, items and all! I upped the difficulty to level that out, and am replaying as a different class. This time I'm gonna **** the alien blue bitch lol!

ME is friggin' ridiculously well made, and probably one of the best games in years. In my book, probably exceeds FFVII, which I still think is one of the best RPGs ever made. Kudos to Bioware, and I hope they match it and fix a few of the bugs.

I'm surprised... thought this was pretty soon... but WOW!.... the idea of a game that finally reflects how you played the earlier game....

I know it was discussed alot with fans with KOTOR... which is the father of this baby... but still.

Cool! Thanks!

What shocks me is that you won't even need your original save. Aesome.

I have to use a different gamertag now due to mixups with email registration and old tags or something...

I wonder how that will work for me.

I may have to play the game again. :D

I think a lot of it has to do with your achievements, that's how it will detect what you did in the first one.

Yeah... but my old gamertag has the achievements.

My new one has all of like 1900 points. I haven't played that much in the way of games in the past year or so.

The Achievements aren't recorded to your 360 itself on the game history pages in the menu?

Yeah, Gamertag by gamertag, I believe.

If they are saved into the game profile on your 360 HDD, then it won't matter. You'll have the ending on file, whether you finished the paragon or renegade path. Cycle through your games and see if you have one of the Acheivments in the Mass Effect tile. Should be there regardless of your Gamertag status on LIVE.

Another way to see is pop in ME and select New Game and see if your Commander Sheppard is retrieved. It should be.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

Wonder if you'll have a choice though about what 'ending' and characters are available assuming you played through multiple times.

I know a few things about that and I won't spoil it for you! :)

If Bioware stays with their track record, ME2 will be one helluva game.

Judging by the gameplay demos at E3, the combat looks a lot smoother and much more like a quality shooter. Combine that with the RPG elements of the game and great story/cut scenes/acting and it should be another gem. Looking forward to it.

Combat does seem improved and a more detailed enemies too. The braindead AI and the rampant slowdown in the original were turnoffs, but there was so many other strong points to the game it managed to overcome these issues.

What I REALLY want to see is a way to equip the characters more easily. They need a 'best' option or automatic or something. I must've spent 3-4 hours in my 39 hours of my playthrough going through items and equipment.

I'll step up to defend the original game a bit. I wouldn't call the AI braindead by any means, but it could be improved (and it looks like it has). On higher difficulties I had my fair share of deaths.

As for as the equip thing, I don't mind spending time there. The problem with a "best" option is what's "best" is a relative thing.....especially when it comes to ammo mods. Maybe you prefer DOT (damage over time), or would rather have some else. I really enjoyed tailoring my entire squad exactly how I wanted them, so they could compliment each other. I do think the menu's could be simplified for easier access though.

The best option would've helped as far as the armor and weapons with highest damage, and you could've upgraded ammo and amps as you saw fit. This would've helped.

Too many times I saw Geth advancing on me without even shooting or stuck on a crate.

Don't get me wrong I'm not slamming it. One of the best games easily in recent memory IMO on scale, story, presentation, memorable characters and some thrilling combat sequences... and sex with an alien smurf looking chick.

So, I have been without a 360 for almost 4 months. Just got it back on Friday. I went out and bought Mass Effect (I sold my copy like 8 months ago for $25), for $14 (used at gamestop) I picked up a used copy (I can't believe such an amazing game is so cheap!!) All my saves are still there, (along with the "Bring Down The Sky" download expansion), but I started a new game. Decided to be a female, and go totally renegade as a sentinel (tech/biotic specialist, but since I have a saved game with beating the game as a "soldier" I was able to choose the assault rifle as a specialty. Basically, my blood loving bitch is the best of all 3 worlds!). Lots of fun. It's interesting to see how all the characters react to a female instead of a male. Bottom line, one of my favorite games of all time

This is what I love about ME, the scale and epic of it all. Twice the voicework and all the reactions will be different, they really went above and beyond in this game.

Umm... so does this mean you can have lesbian sex with the Asari or Williams (forgot her first name) towards the end of the game?

Is it just me or is Williams semi-bonerific? I don't care if she is computer generated.

Yes, and now I know I'm not too strange for liking the Asari's ass.

This is the one game that made me second guess selling my 360. I may have to buy another one this fall.

Will I be able to pull my achievements from my gamertag on a brand new system?

I'm not sure with a different HDD...

Sure can. It's under "recover profile." It takes a couple minutes to download it, but you can do it. You can transfer your profile from console to console. When I go to my buddies for Rockband night, I always recover my profile so I can get my achievements. The only downfall (which wouldn't apply in your case), is that your profile can only be on one console at a time, but as I mentioned, it only takes about 5 minutes to recover it.
