Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall stopped by CBS4 studios on Sunday to talk to Broncos Insider Reggie Rivers about a variety of topics, including his progress after undergoing hip surgery and new head coach Josh McDaniels.
"I'm almost there. I'm almost there," Marshall said. "If we were playing in the Super Bowl right now, I'd be playing."
On McDaniels, Marshall says the new head coach is doing a lot of different things in the red zone and is really creative.
"He knows how to get guys in key matchups and he knows how to take advantage of that matchup," Marshall said.
Marshall said McDaniels definitely has a lot of credibility since he's coming from a winning team in the New England Patriots.
"We're definitely listening when he's talking," Marshall said. "Coach McDaniels, he's selling something good."
Marshall also commented on his legal problems and the possibility of getting suspended again. He's is facing disciplinary action from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for an incident with his fiancée in Atlanta in March. Marshall could begin the season suspended for as many as eight games.
"I can only control what I can control, so I'm not going to worry about that. I've been doing some good things in the community and I'm going to continue to do that and I think all will be well come September."
Marshall just signed a new endorsement deal with Reebok and will be wearing Reebok cleats this season.
He will be hosting an event called Camp 15 on July 18-19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Overland High School. Children ages 7 to 18 years old can participate and it's free.
"Hopefully they just take away some skills and some of the things we teach them about life, especially me being through everything I've been through. I think I've got a lot to teach some younger kids and hopefully they don't bump their head like I have."
