For the past few weeks, college students everywhere have celebrated their graduations. For some of the Broncos’ most recent draft picks, it’s no different.
Richard Quinn graduated from the University of North Carolina last December, but that didn’t stop him from showing up to the Class of 2009’s commencement on May 10.
“I got done with school early,” Quinn said. “But I just went out there to show some love. The main thing is I was just happy to be out there with all my friends and celebrate one last time with them.”
He wore the blue cap just like everyone else, but there was one big difference with his outfit — instead of the accompanying gown, he sported his new Broncos “09″ jersey.
The second-round draft pick said the wardrobe choice drew some smiles and congratulations from fellow graduates.
“Nobody expected that,” he said. “I knew I was going to wear that jersey at least one time, and that was the right time.”
And when people ask the graduate what his plans are after college, it’s pretty obvious right away — he’s going to be playing football.
Now Quinn’s back in Denver getting ready for passing camp, which begins this Tuesday. Just thought you’d like to see how one of the rookies is already representing the Broncos.
