They should make it XBox 360 exclusive.

Speculation at IGN and GS is/was that it's a MGS4-_________ (like Subsistance was) or MGS5 with Raiden replacing Solid Snake for 360. MS said they have something "huge" breaking and the announcement is coming this week. I'll post something when I find out.

They have to make it scarier than System Shock 2. That is a really high bar they set for themselves.

Update-

Konami's Kojima teaser site's countdown ended Thursday night, and began anew with new letters shown.

It reads now S or 5, E e 3.

Some are speculating it reads 'Snake at Electronics expo 360' with E3 beginning soon.

At the Gamestop I go to regularly the management and I know each other by name, she (a hottie too) told me at the regional meeting this week she was told MGS4 was coming to the 360, the entire series is coming to Xbox LIVE via downloads, and it is the finale of MS's E3 press conference, and they'll start taking reserves for MGS4 after the offical announcement.

I'll believe it when it's offical.

The countdown has officially restarted and revealed the face of Big Boss/Naked Snake, the protagonist from MGS3-Snake Eater.

So, it is definitely a new Metal Gear game that will be announced at E3 sometime next week. The platform is still up for debate. Some have even speculated a WIi or DS MGS, but I'm going to assume this is a PS3 or PSP project until I hear otherwise. I'll update any info I get.
