I've never been a big fan of Rap but I still remember listening to the Beastie Boys as a kid. You Gotta Fight For Your Right To Party was one of my favorite songs as a young fella. Anybody in my age group had a favorite Beastie Boys song at some point.

The Beastie Boys were so instrumental in getting me into music period. From the pre-License to Ill days when they opened up for Reagan Youth, to Post DJ Hurricane and Hello Nasty, all the way to the present. The music world lost someone who was so innovative and creative it will be felt. I'm proud to say that I was able to see the Beastie Boys a handful of times live, and they never disappointed. My brothers and I were talking about our memories of their music, and how much they helped us by either bringing up our spirits, or just knowing that there was some good tunes to jam out while hanging with people.
