Good Pick?

With his added bulk and lack of pass rush, he seems to be better suited for a 3-4. Rotational giy at best

Seems to be a popular pick in the draft day thread.

Yeah...apparently we drafted the next Reggie White...in the 5th round.

Who exactly is insinuating anything even close to that?

Wait, this from the guy who picked him in his mock in the 5th? You're complaining???

I'm the guy who had him too soon in my mocks...

We were close on Reyes anyway... they just valued Wolfe higher...

I like Robert Ayers and thought he was Denver's best DL down the stretch last year and in the playoffs.

The mock that I said I didnt do because they change?

My biggest issue with him is his technique and he's a tweener. Better guys we're avsilable. Now, some are making this 5th rounder out to be the next Trevor Pryce.

It's just a little much for this player...IMO

a few hundred more words per post and some colour coding and we'd have a CoachCugel.

You're right, ONE person said that he REMINDS him of Pryce. Not that he will be the NEXT Trevor Pryce. Learn the difference between those two things.

This move of course should nix any rumors that we were trying to trade for Osi. Aint gonna happin cappin!

I think we're happy with Dume and Ayers and now we have a little depth as well. Osi would just tie up alot of cap and we already have Manning, Bailey and Dume filling that role for us.

Yeah, that mock!

Polk & Criner were there & a few others - it's too bad Josh went the previous pick...

But this is the Nascar defense, what's a fan to do?

Me too and I think he did extremely well last year. I don't get why fans are on his ass so much. He keeps getting better and better every year. He's never going to be Julious Peppers but he's overall very solid and the current scheme we're in now is the best fit for him. He made some very key plays on defense last year that helped us win games.

After a million drafts on draft day 3, I just want to say I love all of you guys. Thanks for being so welcoming to me. These last three days have been an experience to remember.

Pardon the hell out of me. Perhaps im incapable of seeing the fine line. But if I "see" player A when I watch player B, I think comparisons are inevitable.

When he has value beyond a rotational player...i'll admit it. Until then...he's depth and nothing more, IMO

Jackson started 24 games in his collegiate career -- four at defensive end and 20 at defensive tackle.

In that time, he recorded 136 tackles with 13 sacks, 27 tackles for loss, 17 quarterback pressures, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. In addition, he deflected 10 passes and intercepted one, which he returned 44 yards.

For those who don't think that Jackson can rush the passer, count the totals. 13 sacks and 17 pressures in 24 starts, 20 of them at DT. He was also double and triple teamed most of the time. This guy brings it.

All i know is he is on the DL and i believe (not sure) but he was one of the best players at Tennesse. He may have been taken in the 5th round but if he can be effective im all for it.

Far and away their best defender. Their QB and WRs could all go in round 1 next draft if they declare. Vols have some young stud DBs and LBs, but they are still too green. Malik was the heart and sould of the D.

So did we draft him or not? I'm not sure anymore.

Yankees.

He's gonna be great in our 3-4 defense.

I'm just happy Tennesseans know how to use a 'puter. I couldn't imagine what an Alabama Forum looks like.
