First of all, the disclaimer: this is NOT a post to slam the draft! :D

Which non-Bronco rookie, drafted or undrafted, do you see being an impact player, and who would be a fit for Denver's offense, defense, or ST?

I'll take a bit of a risk and say Jarron Gilbert. He's 6'5, has incredible wingspan, great strength, great explosiveness, uncanny coordination for a tall guy, and can play small. He probably needs some work, but I think he can fit right in as a 3-4 DE or even an OLB.

The big guys we got with those kind of traits ... for a receiver, Marshall, and for a LT, Clady. I'm thinking this guy could be the next super player.

Ditto. Even though we don't know if he will transition to being an NFL NT, I was really hoping to get Raji some how.

Brandon Pettigrew. Not that Denver needed a tight end. I have just been a big fan of his since his junior year at Oklahoma St. He reminded me of a present day Riley Odoms with his massive frame.

Ramses Barden!!!! The biggest receiver in the draft. Pair him with Brandon Marshall to make one of the biggest WR tandems in the league!!!! Booyah.

Joe Burnett.

Steelers added him to their special teams in the 5th.

Being a San Jose State alumnus, I wanted Gilbert too.

The Broncos have had a great Spartan tradition that includes the likes of Louis Wright, Gerald Willhite, Steve DeBerg, David Diaz-Infante and the late Jack Elway.

Yeah, I was checking out his youtube highlights. The guy seemed too good for his conference, and his plays looked effortless. Definitely talented.

In a few seasons?
Peyton will probably be like Favre and never retire ;)

Peyton probably has 6-9 more years in him IMO.

Yeah, it looks like he has really good instincts too. I think cerebrally, he'd be an upgrade over DJ.

Hehehe, I guess only a fluke accident like the one of Brady's can give him a chance to show his wares. :D

Whether he's just a 2 down linebacker or not in the NFL remains to be seen, but I agree. I think we'll be sorry we didn't take a chance on this kid. I hope I'm wrong.

Vaughan Martin DL - out of Western Ontario (Canada).

6'4 340, runs a 4.96 40, 44 reps on the bench. Was a monster at the Michigan pro day. He's raw but has all the potential in the world.

The fact the Chargers grabbed him in the 4th makes it even more disappointing that the Broncos didn't get him.

Raji. We should have traded for him instead of a corner. That was just dumb.
Alot of good the best corner in the game has done for us with no front seven to help him out a little.

Ravage!!!

I was really hoping to get Raji or Tyson Jackson.

These guys.

I was hoping for Raji or Jackson first since they would play the most important positions of our defense. If they weren't there, I would have loved Rey Rey purely based on the 'blue collar' toughness and attitude he would bring back to the middle. Attitudes like that are contagious, unlike the 'b-boy' attitude that was contagious from LBs past.

Lauranitis.....LB out of Ohio State.....that guy is all over the field on defense.......I think the rams got him in the 2nd round just before our pick.
Would have been a top 10 pick had he come out after his junior season. Didn't get as much hype with the buckeyes during his senior season.

Three players

Steve McGee -QB
Barwin - Nice backer
Sammie Lee Hill - NT/DT. The NFLN Draft Shows was reporting he was the player a lot of teams were excited about taking because of his skills. Of course he went one choice after Denver in the 4th.

w/o making non-existant trades to grab people...

Maualuga at #48. Didn't want him in rd 1, but in rd 2? woulda been worth the risk.

Jarron Gilbert

Chris Clemons

Jasper Brinkley

I was just being sarcastic. I like how our draft went. I think it will help us field a very competitive team this year and in the coming years. If I could take 1 player that we didn't take it would've been Maulauga or Ron Brace.

Rey Maualuga vs. Tom Bradstater on opening day. It should be an interesting if Brandstater has won the starting job.

This is waaaay after the fact... But I have never been so disappointed about missing a player as I was about the Broncos not drafting Mason Crosby 3 years ago when he slid to the 6th round...

And in case you need any more proof of what morons Herm Edwards and Carl Edwards are--they took Justin Medlock, K, UCLA, ahead of him in the 5th round that year and he is now out of the NFL.
