at the very least, he'll need a year on the practice squad to put on some weight. . .

i won't say that he can't make the team at some point, but i don't see it being this year. . .

Broncos defensive lineman Ben Garland, who participated in the team’s training camp in 2010 before returning to the Air Force, has successfully applied to the Air Force’s Palace Chase program.

Defensive Line Coach Wayne Nunnely said he’s happy to have him back.

“His work ethic is outstanding,” Nunnely said. “And I told him this, if he is a representative of our Armed Forces, we are in great shape. Because he exemplifies all of the great qualities – the great work ethic, the great discipline, all those kinds of things that you want in people who are guarding our country. It’s those same attributes that you want in an athlete and he has all that. I don’t know in my 36 years of coaching if I’ve worked with anybody more disciplined, with such a great work ethic, than Ben.”

Too damned big to fit in a fighter jet cockpit. Very good at establishing position and maintaining it as was evident the many times he went head to head with the lastest ejection equipment. Refused to be pushed around, even by the best. Good against the run and can collapse the pocket from inside. Great initial burst during take off, or at the snap, unbelievable air time during verticle leap, just seems to hover and glide without effort. A definate frequent flyer.

All the buzz in him when he was in camp in 2010 was good. I guess we'll see. I hope he turns out to help
