Would you do it? I have a feeling he gets shipped out tomorrow for a third. If this happens it will make me feel better about the Quinn situation. A 3rd for an often injured tight end that probally won't stick around after next year isn't a bad deal.

I say let's do it, how bout you?

Yes, I would, I hope it happens. They should have done it first and then taken the blocking TE.

why trade him for a 3rd when we can almost certainly get a 5th?

one thing doogie clearly didn't learn from bill bellyache is how to get value out of trades and not burn draft picks. . .

Why trade Scheffler for a 3rd rounder when you've got that other No1 pick burning a hole in your pocket?.......

Since we already picked another TE, yes.

Well he could have had a number one for Cassell but settled for a #3 IIRC..

It's the least we could do after they gave us a 5th for Keary Colbert.

in the presser it sounded like McDaniels said whichever is later. but there was some doublespeak so I'm not 100% certain.

ok, so say we do this:

where does tony scheffler end up? philly was tied to that rumor earlier; any other potential landing spots?

I still think Philly is the fit.

Love both of them plus...

Louis Murphy, WR, Florida
Kyle Moore, DE, USC
Michael Johnson, DE/OLB, Georgia Tech
Jarron Gilbert, DE, San Jose State
Lawrence Sidbury, DE, Richmond

def like gilbert and sidbury as well. don't think gilbert has any chance of getting to 85, i thought he'd go in the 2nd.

every scouting report i've seen says he's soft and not very competitive. . . .

in any case, i think you guys are drunk if you think we're getting a 3rd for chef after today's taste of mcxanders' "bargaining skills". . . . :D

Why trade Sheff for a 3rd when we can give Sheff and the rest of our draft for a 5th? Remember, VALUE.

oh, and as for getting a 3rd for chef. . . probably not happening when shawn nelson, chase coffman, jared cook, cornelius ingram and travis beckham are ALL available in the 3rd and will have to play for peanuts for the next 4-5 years. . . . yes, chef is a proven NFL producer and they're not-- he's also proven to be fragile, and will need a veteran contract next year. . . . for what we're likely to get in this market, i'd rather keep him, although doogie supposedly can't figure out what to do with a guys that's 6'5" with great body control and soft hands. . . .

Graham is actually a good receiver but wasn't utilized in that area

The Bears aren't that bad, and Seattle has the really nice 1st round pick our next season is likely to garner.

And Graham does has nice hands, it's just that, as noted, he was seen as more valuable as a blocker; one reason he was upbeat about coming here was because he expected to catch more balls than he did in NE. Guess he didn't figure on McDaniels following him like Richard Kimble after the One-Armed Man. ;)

Unfortunately, I hope we do trade him. Otherwise, we'll get nothing when he is released. Like his mentors, McD seems to consider the Tight end a blocker, not an offensive weapon.

He has average hands for a TE but is to slow to get open against man-to-man
