A guy that only wanted coaching in his senior year. Bad attitude player and only produced in his last season. Why not Brown? WTF!

Ayers has the tools, but I still don't like the pick. He's a 1 year wonder IMO :tsk:

Wow...stunned me with that pick. I figured they would take Rey.

At least we got the best defensive player in this years draft....per Mayock.

Ayers could bust, but he could also be the second coming of Peppers. He's a good player and will be solid for us IMO.

He will be playing SOLB if you ask me which begs the question why we didnt select Gilbert in the second instead of a third round safety.

Dude is hardly a 1 year wonder. He has played a LOT. Now I personally would have preferred some other names at 18, but dude plays in the beckfield even though he doesn't get the sack totals. His tackles for loss are high. UT rotates a LOT of Dlinemen so to call him a 1 year wonder makes no sense.

He reminds me of Lamar Woodley from Michigan who is currently killing it at OLB w/ Pittsburgh.

I don't think Ayers is a one year wonder at all. He's probably better ALL AROUND than Orakpo. He's got A LOT of good defensive coaches with the Vols and is coming to a team with a few great defensive minds (Nolan, the 3-4 guy we nabbed from SD, etc). I think Ayers will do well for us, better than Moss or Crowder have so far anyway; look for that to change too though.

Him and Eric Berry WERE UT's D.. Ayers is a baller and i'm happy with the pick. I would have been happier with Rey Rey but Ayers will do..

We need MULTIPLE LBs in Day 2.

I'm happy with the pick!
Everette Brown fell to the mid 2nd (which shows how high he was on the draft boards....) and the only other solutions we had was to pick a LB : Maualuga (but we are fine with DJ and Andra playing inside with Woodyard as the back-up) and Matthews...

so yeah, i'm really happy with Ayers! (top defensive player by Mayock & versatile)
