All BS aside. Not who you want, not what you think shoudl happen...What does your gut tell you we will end up w/ tomorrow in round 1?

My gut is telling me Maybin and Moreno unless we trade a pick to NYG so they can take Heyward-Bey.

Sanchez at 12!!:D j/k I'm not good at this so I'll say Orakpo!

Moreno at 12

Trade 18 for lemon.

Brace in rd 2

And then say hello to a playoffs.

Rey and Moreno. Don't know which order. (T jax and Raji won't be there)

I don't think we'll take Rey because Ed Werder was saying today that McD told him he wants guys who can play 3 downs in the first round. Rey projects as a guy who may come off the field in 3rd down situations.

But Werder agrees with you that T-Jax and Raji will be gone by #12.

My gut says Jackson and Moreno...if Jackson is there at 12. If he is gone, we will take the best player available. Maybe Malcolm Jenkins? That would be a curveball.

I REALLY hope all this talk about Jackson is just that. Dude would be badass for us.

04-24-2009, 07:41 PM
I think Rey can play 3 downs in a 3-4, but would be a 2 down backer in a 4-3. I wouldn't mind him here, but he would not be my 1st or 2nd choice....probably about my 5th choice if the other guys I want are off the board at 18.

Jenkins and Cushing.

Tyson Jackson at 12 is definately the most realistic pick..

at 18 I think its between Rey Maualuga, Everette Brown, Larry English, or Knowshon Moreno

Jenkins, but he gets switched to S.

Knowshon Morneo @ 12

Connor Barwin @ 18 (yes, a reach-he won't be there in the 2nd)

Dirty Sanchez, Raji, and Tyson Jackson will be gone by 12...

I am far from a draft nick but I would love a LB that you know actually
knows how to not overrun a play and make a tackle.

The anti Nate Webster/Jamie Winborn type of LB

Yeah, I also think Raji, Jackson, and Sanchez will be gone by then. If that happens, I think Denver will trade back 5 places or more to 17 or higher, and get an additional pick to boot ... if they don't try to trade with KC for Cassel. :D

My gut says Tyson Jackson and Clint Sintim.

Both are very safe picks that can make an immediate impact. Jackson is the epitomy of a run stuffing defensive end and Clint Sintim is the most experienced college linebacker in the draft that's played in a 3-4.

my pessimistic, gag-reflex gut says that if sanchez falls we will use 12 packaged with another pick to get him.

if that other pick is the 18 then **** McD for lying to me. please just let sanchez go at 2 or 4 so i only have to worry for like an hour!

The current Broncos front office has NO track record and almost no credibility. So asking us what they may do is a totally blind squirrel. I'm on record as saying "defense, defense, defense" but we hired an offensive coach who I'm betting can't wait to begin proving his genius by rebuilding the offense and expecting Dick Nolan to perform miracles with the defense with personnel unsuited for a 3-4 defense.

If McDiapers/X-Man have any brains they will draft 3-4 defenders who can transform our defense. But whether they have such brains is anyone's guess.

We'll also get a steal in Rounds 2 and 3.

My gut is telling me that if Raji and Jackson are off the board -- throw in Orakpo as well, Denver goes for Moreno or Wells. According to Klis, there are five guys Denver feels great about at #12, and they expect two of them to be there when it is all said and done. I would take any of the aforementioned there besides Orakpo.

if that's the case, i would guess that five is probably raji, jackson, orakpo, jenkins and moreno, with jenkins and moreno being the two they expect to be there. . . . although i suppose maybin could potentially be in there as well. . . .

That is how I actually see it as well, Dog. All those players have schematic versatility on defense and that maximizes value. Certainly seems like the players Denver would be interested in. I am having a fit doing my final mock because I want to place Jackson at #12, but I don't think he gets there. I think Denver in that scenario would go for Jenkins/Moreno. According to someone on OM; Schefter said Denver is interested in trading with Washington to get up to #13 and take Moreno.

Oh..the draft?

Who friggin knows. With all the smokescreens it's hard to say what's going to happen.

I want: Jackson, Moreno, Brace. In that order. If we get 2 outta 3 I'd be happy. As long as we address the defense, but if Moreno is there at 18 I don't see how we can't take him.

A couple of trades, and an attempt to get another pick in round 2.
