It's official, 4 more years. This will take me to just under 23 years. 17 years ago I never thought I'd stay in at all, two years ago I didn't think it'd be past twenty... Very glad to have the opportunity.
Congratulations!

No thanks needed Chaz. The Marines, and therefore the taxpayer, have afforded me the opportunity to live a great life. One that I have immensely enjoyed and am very proud of.
I still think a thanks is in order.

Mondays and Tuesdays my wife works late and I am always trying to find ways to do fun things with my son. Yesterday we found an editing program that lets you rotoscope lightsaber effects to any video. I used iMovie to add the sound effects and music. I'm more proud of this than I should be, though I do apologize for filming it vertically:

So by the time he was 10 he was taller than me  ya - there's nothing like walking the halls of an elementary school and having a good amount of kids taller than you. It's in the milk I tell ya. I was raised on farm fresh - no hormones. That's my excuse. Although I stepped in a lot of cow shit in my day as a youth and it never helped.

This is from last weekend, old parachute team 50th year anniversary reunion. Bonfire at the DZ there at the Academy, that's Pike's Peak in the background on the left. I look like ass because I drank a lot and didn't sleep much, and I've got the ol' chipmunk cheek from falling of the wagon for the weekend. The three of us used to fly A-10s together, the two on the right still do. The one in the middle is my best friend.

This is from a performance this morning of Benjamin Britten's "Rejoice in the Lamb." Its kind of an odd piece of music, written in 1943, and I fully can't decide if I like it or not. Regardless, My daughter had the Soprano solo, and absolutely nailed it, as good as I've ever heard her

Me either. My wife's favorite band so I get dragged to their shows every year. I enjoy them enough, but they play New Years Eve and Red Rocks every summer so I see them at least twice a year it seems. I think they had about 2 new albums in the past few years as well which are pretty good.
Red Rocks is awesome - as long as you dont have to park two miles down the hill

It all depends I suppose. If I am going to tailgate for a big show I don't mind parking in the lot, but most shows I actually show up late on purpose and park on the road facing out. The lots are nice but after the show you are stuck there for at least an hour before you can move.

I will say this straight up, as the plain troof. From your postings in the Religion section you come across as always respectful, intensely curious, but a pretty firm non-believer. From looking at your wife and girls I will say you have all the proof any man should want that God is generous and that your Blessings far outweigh your merit, cuz your wife is beautiful and the girls are adorable. Get thee to a Church and give thanks straightaway!

They are. They're native to the Pacific and Indian Oceans as well as the Red Sea and somehow the wound up in Florida and have migrated from Maine to Aruba and Bonaire. There are many theories on how they got here but the reality of the situation is they have no natural predators in the Carribean. We do our best to keep their numbers down.
Thanks for the reference BDB. We do the lionfish fried, garlic and butter, blackened, mustard sauce or in a curry. Also good for a ceviche, probably my favorite method.
