A picture of me passed the hell out flying from Kuwait to Incirlik AB, Turkey.

http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w157/HerkCC/My%20Stuff/IMG_0766.jpg

When we got to Ramstein AB in Germany and walked in to the hotel lobby, a BUNCH of celebs were hanging out in the lobby. I met Buffy the Vampire Slayer (from the movie, not Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Gary Sinese (Lt Dan from Forrest Gump). I didn't get a pic with Buffy, but got one with Lt Dan.

In other words....I'm changing the subject when I can.
I like to think about happier times for my family and not get all
funked-out before the holidays and depressed over things I can't change.
(which go along with this subject being discussed). I should have never
derailed this thread.

Very horrible, bad time during my college years. I lost many many things.

More power to any parent who can teach their kid how to be a
responsible adult and help them through college.

(That's my dog, Tigger. I loved him so much. I couldn't take him with me when we moved.) There were two ponds and barns and we had trees everywhere. We fished and sat in the front yard and at night it was quiet and

And this is what it looks like now....after we could no longer afford it.
Mom was sick & my little jobs couldn't pay the mortage and back taxes
and my tuition at the same time.

They plowed it down and now it's all used as farming storage.

My parents live off social security in a little shit apartment & it took years
for me to repair credit taking all this on did to my score.

I still have student loans & nothing got better for my family.
I couldn't hold them ALL up.

I'm going to lunch.

Happy Thanksgiving you guys.

I have a combined mileage so far this year of about 2000 miles with 1600 or so on the road bike in the pic. I ride it more than the others. I would have more miles but breaking my ribs last Oct. slowed me down. I don't see how football players can play with borken ribs. I couldn't move for a month without wimpering. :D

The great thing about where I live now is I can ride year around.

Day1, excited for the Spring and Summer when you can ride around at will?

I don't even have a nice bike, but I would put about 20 miles a day, if not more on my P.O.S. Huffy back home. Biking is one of the only things that centers me. Hopefully, wherever I move post-graduation, it'll be somewhere with nice parks and/or trails nearby. Sweet ride.

I love riding my bikes, like a kid getting a new toy everyday. The beauty of living here is riding all year.

The only problem with living here is the heat in the summer. Summer heat means I go on my rides early in the morning before it heats up. Even in the morning it can be in the high 80's already. I usually go on my rides between 6-6:30 all year. The only thing that stops me (besides injury) is rain and strong wind.

The key to getting a bike is making sure it fits you right. If you don't know what size you need it can be hard to find the right one online. If you have an REI in your area or where you plan on going that is a good place for reasonably priced bikes and they will fit you up good. They have a great return policy also.

I have never bought a bike online so I have no personal experience with that but you can go to this site (http://www.bikeforums.net/forum.php), sign up for an account and get all the current information you would want. Those guys can help you out with anything regarding bikes including repair should yo choose to do your own.

Back, back, back in the day, my dad had some ACL surgery that put him flat on his back for a couple weeks. He was in a cast from his ankle to his groin for 6 weeks, blah blah blah. Anyway, part of his rehab was riding a bike. So the best things they had then were 10-speeds, and he got this spiffy green one that he rode to work every day. The family got a season pass to the local pool and we met him there 3 times a week to swim. That was an awesome summer! Anyway, my sister liked to pretend she owned that 10-speed after that summer was over. She always "borrowed" it to run to the store or whatever. One day she came out of the store and it was gone! She went into hysterics () and came home to confess her naughtiness. My dad reported it stolen and nobody ever expected to see it again.

About a month later, my dad was at a different store, and right there, chained to another bike was HIS BIKE! He checked it out and there was his social security number carved into it (like they used to tell you to do back in the day), so he called the police on the pay phone (like I said this must have been late 70's/early 80's). While he was waiting for them to show up, some kids came to unlock the bikes and my dad was all, "That's my bike." Kid was all, "no it's mine." Dad was all, "then why is MY SS number on it right here?" Kid was all "oh ****." Dad grabbed him (cuz that was legal at the time) and said you're not leaving until the police get here.

Ok, Don't know why that bike story popped into my head. Probably cuz that kid thought he had himself a cool, cheap bike. He ruined some of the gears though. He had no idea how to ride a 10-speed, dumb *** kid. :bike:

I got my first new 10 speed back in the 60's too. That was my first brand new of the showroom bicycle. The bad thing was it's a pain in the neck to ride one on snow or ice. It ended up getting ran over by a car. I've heard that some back problems can be solved by riding.

Way to go Shake. I really wish I could do something with my graphics design knowledge and all that jazz. I've always been doing it, and pretty well -- but never made a degree of it.

Its a good field. Lots of freelance work. I haven't had a real job in 2 years and was able to pay my way through school and buy a new car. The only reason I got a state job is health insurance.

It was ok. The last 2 or so seasons have been a lot better than most of the newer stuff. My personal favorite being Waverly Hills where Homer lived in a studio apartment at a nicer address so the kids could go to a nicer school. The killer from "No Country From Old Men" had a cameo.

If you watch the making of stuff on their movies like BaseketBall and Team America, Trey is always wearing at least a Broncos hat. During the entire filming of the Team America making of they show him in an Eddie Mac Jersey. And of course Stan has the Broncos lamp in his room, and John Elway and Jay Cutler have both been "on" the show! :D
