I know this isn't "Broncos" discussion, but Schefter was a good reporter for us before he went to NFLN. He hasn't been on the air since March over some issues with NFLN. He'll be moving to ESPN as soon as his contract is up, unless he can get out of it earlier.

Several league and industry sources have told us that Adam Schefter, who still is under contract with NFL Network, will join ESPN later this year.

Schefter is still under contract with NFLN, but he has not appeared on the air since early March. Schefter told Neil Best of Newsday on March 23 that he remains under contract with NFL Network until the middle of August.

It remains to be seen whether and to what extent Schefter’s arrival affects the current NFL insider lineup at ESPN. At a minimum, it could make for a spirited-to-the-point-of-awkward in-house rivalry between Schefter, Chris Mortensen, John Clayton, Michael Smith, and the army of beat-writers-turned-bloggers who compete to break news.

Sweet, maybe ESPN will have some credibility now!

Good. It gives me someone to trust in ESPN. I wonder what happens to Chris Mortensen now...

Ouch. Huge loss for NFL Network. I don't like this one bit, it seems like both networks will be dominated by idiocy from here on out.

Schefter will be like Gulliver among the Liliputians there. Mortensen was bad before, he is going to be TERRIBLE trying to beat Adam to the punch. Big loss for NFLN, that should have beat ESPN's offer.

NFL Network was stupid to not give Adam Schefter a new contract.

He was their greatest asset.

If they get rid of that tool Chris Mortenson, maybe ESPN won't suck for once.

LOL. they are trading

NFLN is trading schefter to espn for Clayton, mortenson and rights to 2 games National TV and an Interview of Mr. Irrelevant.

He will be an island of reality in a sea of bullshit...I just hope they don't corrupt the little guy.

I always thought Schefter was okay...wonder what the 'real' deal is behind him and NFLN?

Maybe he can just go to some local TV station. His (Mort) credibility is nil. I hate when he is on and usually leave the room until he is done. Same with Trent Dilfer, can't stand him either.

My biggest worry is that Schefter will now be required to adopt a cutesy catchphrase to fit in with the rest of the useless ESPN crew. I'll miss him.

Schefter is/was the most viable part of the NFLN. All they have left is Eison (a host), a very few descent ex-player analyzes, and a butch of talking body parts. I'm not sure whether they are heads or postieors.

Mortenson is only a small part of the vacuum pump at ESPN. He use to be good, but he's past his prime now. Maybe ESPN can get a fourth row pick from SportingNews for him. ;)

However, Schefterwill only add a few minutes per day of viability to ESPN.
