Post everything Kyle Orton related here. Highlight videos, interviews, articles, and pics of him taking advantage of intoxicated women are all welcome. However, no negative comments on his play or lifestyle will be tolerated and I will dish out lifetime bans from this thread to anyone who cannot follow these guidelines. I'll start with these interviews (well, 1 interview, 2 videos):

How did he look overall? I've only had time to look at a thing or two on him but I am excited about his potential in our offense. I still think he's just a stopgap but it would be a pleasant surprise if he managed to be a long term starter for us.

If you watch that interview in my original post he says that he grows the beard to stay warm...whatever let's him dominate on the field I am all for it! Hopefully it is warm enough in Denver to stay clean shaven, though...can't say I'm a big fan of the neck beard.

Man he reminds me so much of Plummer. Can't wait to get back to the playoffs.

I will go on record right now saying that if Orton is our starting QB for 16 games next season, he will have more yards and wins than Cutler. I think the system he is about to play in vs Cutlers system is going to put up huge yards, points and wins.

Orton has a blazing fastball and is accurate in short to midrange. He can fit it
into tight windows. He needs work in his deep accuracy, but he can get the
ball there, and then some.

I like his pocket presence. He stands well in the pocket with an absence of
"happy feet" often seen in a young QB, and he knows when to flush out of
there. I have seen him about to be blown up by a pass rusher and still put the
ball on the money with a quick throw.

I also like Orton's mobility. No, he's not Cutler in that respect, but he picks his
spots and makes the defense have to watch him there, too. He also seems to
be very good at play-action.

Very encouraging is that McDaniels said in his presser that he has studied
Orton, even before considering him in this trade, and that Orton "makes good
decisions." Perhaps the most endearing is that Orton is a warrior. He reminds
me of Joe Kapp in that respect. (For those to whom Joe Kapp was before their
time, Kapp was tough as nails, unflappable, and alllllll team.)

I believe Orton can be groomed into a very good QB. And McDaniels is just the
guy to do that, as the entire league has seen.

That's my take, IMHO.

Does he stare down his WR's, or can he look off a safety and use his check downs?

Intelligence is going to be the key. I don't think this offense is going to be "dumbed" down for anyone like we have seen in the past 3 seasons.

Does anyone know how hard or easy it is to get into PUrdue?

If Orton has a good head on his shoulders and can learn this offense, he is going to succeed big time. I think thats what McDaniels is looking for and likes out of SImms and Orton.

I studied his eye-action (if that's a word), and said "wow." One example was a
long pass to his TE against the Eagles. Looking to disrupt his plans was none
other than Brian Dawkins, who was lurking to his left. Orton kept the cagey
Dawkins over there with is eyes, then passed down the middle for a long
completion. For a young, relatively inexperienced QB, Orton is already learning
to use his eyes as a weapon.

I've never posed for a funny picture with my friends while drinking. Orton makes me envious.

Dude sure does like him some sauce.

Memo to Bowlen: 1) Take keys to Prius. 2) Hire Orton a driver.

Missed the crossing route, RB went to fill gap, lucky no safety.

Ball falls out of the sky on 35 yard pass.

Happy feet.

Missed crosssing route, missed RB out in flat.

Led receiver into dangerous spot.

Other than that.....what a crappy o-line.

And what a lousy scheme from Detroit.

I wish Cutler could have thrown the deep ball as well as Rivers.

I bet Kyle Orton can out drink Cutler.

That's not fair. . .Cutler has to test his blood sugar between shots.

If he is dedicated to the Broncos, provides leadership and will do all he can to improve his skills and wants to be the guy to help this team win- he is a clear upgrade over Cutler.

Two things...

You cant watch this and say Orton doesnt have the strong arm to make tight throws...

And did anyone else notice how many GOOD passes he made in the red zone?

in all the high-light clips, not a single pick! stud.

I would love to kick it with Orton. He seems like my kinda guy

anyone notice the time on the bottom right picture? 11 am. Good to know he's not one of those guys that wastes the day away sleeping until noon.

After watching the High-lights and learning that he is already here and working make me feel better about Orton.

I know this will probably change before the season, but as of now...

Orton is going to turn Adam Bergen into a star.

Add me to that list. I said the same thing in another thread

Me too. Orton will have a better year than Jay does.

Me too. Orton will have a better year than Jay does.

Are you sure? When the season starts I'll bet against it with you.
The reason is if Orton isn't the starter and we draft a starting QB I win automatically.
